Had this happen today. I got a call on my cell phone while at work from someone wanting to know about the shipping status of their item. OK fine. Told them I didn't have any way to check then because I was at work. I get home and check my post sale items and could not find her name anywhere. I called her back and she gave me some wierd order # and then said that she paid with Visa but not through Paypal. Paypal is the only way I can take credit cards. She then tells me she ordered from some site called deals.com. When I looked up the website I found a deal.com that looked like they dealt with clothes (This item was make-up). When I was talking to her I was trying to explain to her that I didn't have any record of any order and that I will have to look at this some more. I lost the connection with her. I don't know if she hung up on me or what. She was very hard to understand and I couldn't hear half of what she was saying and had to ask her to repeat things several times. What is really strange is that her name sounds so familiar and the item she said she bought is a brand of lipstick that I only have 1 of and it's still in my inventory. So how did she get my cell # if she didn't order from me but from some other company? And why does her name sound familiar when I have no record of an order from April 14th of this year when she said she ordered? I am trying to figure out if I am in the Twilight Zone or in some crazy dream with this one.

I do eBay consignment and have a storefront. Once a month somebody comes in ranting about some purchase that they made on eBay (from an unknown seller), apparently thinking that we're a big monolithic collection of auctioneers who have regular meetings to discuss whom we're going to rip off next. I manage to settle them down, but they always leave with a funny look on their face, as though I was lying just to get them out of my shop

Cash...So what's the date, time and place of the next meeting? Is it open to anyone, or do we need a reference from our parole officer?

Sparkz, if you don't know when the meeting is, you must be an infiltrator. If you don't know the secret handshake, you can't get in. Come on, admit it, you are an honest business-person; what are you doing on eBay?
By the way, I got accused today of running a scam because I didn't give out the ESN of a cell phone I'm selling. Are ESNs on digital phones okay to share, or is it like the analog days, where the ESN would allow you to clone? I know this question is probably for another thread, but it's late and I'm groggy
