I want a international customer to us Bid Pay but he only has a mastercard to use. Where else can he use his Mastercard to buy a money order online? Why doesn't Bid Pay take Mastercard?

It is unusual for a business to take Visa only and not Master Card, but not unprecedented. Your bidder could get an international postal money order and mail it.

BidPay no longer accepts MasterCard as MC doesn't accept that BidPay purchases are cash advances. When you use your Visa or Amex to pay for a Western Union money orders you have no comeback, so Western Union and the seller are protected against the all too common charge back fraud as seen on PayPal! provided you use them in trades where the seller has good feedback, etc. then it's not a problem.

As to IPMOs few countries will still accept them at Post Offices. They are basically obsolete due increasing use of electronic cross-border transfers for postal payments (outside the U.S.) in the OECD.

Don't forget, Bidpay also accepts debit cards. I don't think they will take a MC debit card, but most banks can fix up a customer in good standing with a Visa debit card on very short order.

spark,
this bidder is not in USA.
It looks like the only online alternative to bidpay is paypal and you get no seller protection unless you ship EMS with trackabl dc

sw states, in his usual witty & incisive style, the following:

"...paypal and you get no seller protection unless you ship EMS with trackabl dc."

And PayPal started applying the SPP to USA sellers who ship outside the USA exactly WHEN????

I had my trusty ambulance chaser (Mr Boston Red Sox Ralph, Esq.) go over the PP SPP with his keen legal sense of smell & sharp wit ("What do ya call 1000 lawyers on da bottom of the sea?"), and he surely donna find ANY mention of this fabalous new PP benefit...

Or...are ye talking out yer hat??

YES, they came on this board & said that...

However, that's anedotal evidence of just about NOTHING, as, for all we know, PP did it just for GOOD WILL???

EXPRESS MAIL does have tracking -- however, it costs a fortune, &, until I see it written in PP's TOS, I'll continue to accept the fact that USA sellers who accept PP & ship outside the USA have NO recourse, even WITH "tracking"

stopwhining,

I'm afraid that tOMWiii is correct - EMS does not provide PayPal Seller Protection for intl shipments. PayPal places as many obstacles in seller's way as possible so they are NOT protected, rather PayPal is protected from having to investigate every lost package or buyer attempting to commit mail fraud. Next in protection are buyers (in order of credit card funded and other funded). Yet sellers pay the fees that keep PayPal going - doesn't this strike some of you as rather bizarre?

NO NO NO. NO Fighting on my topic. Everyone play nice.

I have been using Pay Pal for international bidders for years now and then I do have problems. Mostly bidders refusing to pay their duties and taxes or reporting their item "wasn't received" (even though they have a tracking number showing them where there item is).

I only use Express Mail for shipping. Yes, it's expensive but the bidder has to agree or no deal.

Pay Pal does accept my Express Mail tracking number as proof that something was shipped and delivered. (at least they do from me)

I have always received my money back from Pay Pal when there has been a buyer dispute.

I decided to try Bid Pay for my international bidders based on the suggestions I received here.

For some reason, my merchant account gives me a hard time with International credit cards. They hold the funds for days so I only take USA cards manually.

Maybe the next international bidder will be able to use Bid Pay.

www.payko.com allows anyone with a paypal account to buy a money order using thier [paypal account) and they will send to the seller , just like Bidpay however a little more convinent for the Buyer and the seller as there are no chargeback risks.

Tom,
My guess would be that when someone complains to Paypal that he has not received the item and Paypal asks the seller to provide online trackable DC-.
Confiming DC is automated and Paypal finds the dc number on USPS site whether it is domestic or EMS,so the seller has satisfied Paypal requirement of 'online trackable dc'.
no human intervention is involved at this first step.

Some of Ralphie's MONKEY-PORN cinematic extravangazas sell for $200 to $500 -- we ain't gonna take a chance with PayPal from Elbonia on a "guess"
