I have seven glass dishes with no clue as to their makers. Any help will be greatly appreciated! This is the first of them; the bowl is 3" high x 10" wide at top:

Isn't this a Fostoria pattern?

Miscellany: Gee, I wish I knew! I just have these seven pieces, all very different from each other, and no glass books to look them up in. I've posted a different photo and question in the Ebay pottery & glass discussion group to see if I can get an answer for another piece I'm wondering about. I hate to bother glass people but do not intend to specialize in glass and don't know where to turn for answers.

After much study and due deliberation. I must say I fully concur with Classic. Actually, the Fostoria name floated in front of my eyes also, along with Heisy. I'll see if I can dig out my books tomorrow and look it up for you. In the meantime, maybe Max will wander in here and solve the mystery.

Thanks, Sparkz. I appreciate your help but don't want you to spend too much time on this.

And who is Max?

Miscellany: That is SO close--not quite the same, but I'm inclined to list in under Fostoria in "other" category and see if someone comes in to correct me.

I thought it was English Hobnail by Westmoreland but I looked that up and it's not the same. I still think it could be Westmoreland.

Thanks, lady! I'll do some sleuthing in Westmoreland. These pieces of Mystery Glassware are frustrating for us amateurs!

I searched ALL my reference books last nite, and could not come up with that pattern. Are you sure it's old? A picture of the base might help.

If you tell them Benjamin Franklin said it first, they'll believe you

Thanks, Max. The base is pictured above, in the first photo. There are no marks. Gee, I suppose it might be newer; looks older, but what do I know?

While you're here--is there any way I could send you a couple of photos of other pieces that have me stymied? I'd be glad to send them to your e-mail if you want to give me that. Or, you can e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll send the pictures that way. Thanks for your help! Adele
