I got a bumper sticker from Kovels that says: "Warning, I brake for garage sales" lol!!! Thought about putting it on my car, and then thought better of it (its so dorky) but lo and behold what do you think I did today? Saw a little yard sale sign and abruptly made a turn to head to it! Guess I could have used that bumper sticker today as the guy behind me was not too pleased ...

Ebay's generousity is overwhelming - NOT. What kind of an inducement is that? Wonder what type of people they have working for them that thought this one up.

I think I figured out why they chose a pen. That way you have something to write your check with when you pay your ebay bill and then when it run's out of ink you can tell them it's their fault they didn't get paid due to their faulty pen. Think they will fall for it

Who pays Ebay by personal check? Thought they wanted a credit card and if you do not have one, they will furnish an Ebay Mastercharge for you to pay the charges you have run up listing and selling - if you do sell anything ofcourse. Actually I think the offer of an ebay pen to open up a store is very insulting.

There are many sellers who pay their monthly bill by check or money order. Any seller who was registered before a certain date was grandfathered in and has the option to choose between credit card payment or check or money order payment. I chose to use a credit card because the payments were automated and more convenient. Also, I didn't trust Ebay's manual posting system to credit my account in a timely manner to avoid being restricted on listing new auctions. I would imagine those who still pay by check are very large powersellers who have a strong finantial reputation (and possibly a bond) with Ebay, or very small occasional hobby sellers.

I personally do not pay ebay with a check. I have a very close friend that sell's about 20 or 30 items on ebay a year and he pay's with a personal check. I myself pay my ebay fee's with my paypal debit card so I can stuff them and get 2% cash back.
