Once an echeck clears - can the sender do a charge back like with a credit card?

"it 'aint' no 30 waiting period to file a complaint."

ANNNNNNNNNNNNND, hope what JUST happened to me never happens to you, or anyone...
i am not expert; this is just experience speaking...i was paid on June2 via
Echeck...paypal notified me on june7 that it had cleared. then takes 4 more
days, june11, to deposit my bank. on 6/13 buyer filed complaint for non receipt
of mdse for:: "not received or not as described" [this is the reason ppal allows on their form]...
paypal advises me that it will take minimum 15 days to review with buyer - in meantime my account is to be frrozen for at least that time...
alternative: issue credit. now to be very clear; my account was frozen because[1] paypal cant enter my checking acct. without permisssion, [2]..one cannot use their credit card to clear the chargeback[an Echeck chargeback], and
[3] per paypal customer service, my account would have been frozen any way because any time there is a "dispute" in an "unsolved" category, they freeze the account...
so i refunded the money, that freed my account; but THAT TOOK 4 DAYS...

instead of registering your bank routing number and account number, use your bank debit card instead,it could cut the transit time from 4 to 2 days.
You can also use a credit card, but it would become a credit to your credit card balance, not your bank account.
either credit or debit card will speed up the processing.

So it is no better or worse than any other paypal payment???
Thanks all - I love selling expense items but I worry until I get the FB that they will pull something. When is there ever going to be something to protect the seller??
There ain't gonna be, because it got nada to do with PayPal, but rather with the Federal Law that generously protects credit card users, at the expense of honest sellers!
Remember Ralphie's First Law of PayPal:
"NEVER accept an amount greater than yer able & willing to EAT!

Tom
That's why I was wondering if echecks were better???
I may have a referral for you - if you still do the seller's assistance thing???

Thanks Tom
I owe you one - I tried to use my old PC and it started eating my photos. Oh yeah - now I remember why I stopped using that computer.
