What's the future for ebay stock? I think they are a one hit wonder, i.e., online auctions. All the cash they are spending to branch out into classifieds, real estate, etc. is out of their sphere of expertise and will turn out badly. They ought to declare a special dividend and return some money to shareholders.

ebay's very smart, long term. china is our biggest long-term economic "threat." buying up u.s. companies, owns billions in u.s. treasury notes, outbids us on the global market for raw materials and other resources. no need for them to go to war in the traditional sense, in 10 years they'll win hands down economically with their output, their huge population of consumers, etc. to establish ebay and pp there makes a lot of sense from a profit standpoint.
