Check this out. I sold this lure on eBay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7170621183
Now this guy copied my photo and sold it on eBay.

Looks like he tried to make it sound like he was selling the lure and is only selling a copy of my photo.

Have you informed the winner bidder that the other seller stole your photo, and/or reported the seller to eBay? (looks like possible fraud)

Unbelievable! And I bet Ebay has some kind of rule against you contacting the buyer to warn him. They would probably call it auction interference. The crook would be allowed to bilk the victim and you would get in trouble for attempting to expose this fraud.

I have contacted eBay and the winning bidder. I hope the bidder had not paid yet but I just found it a little while ago.

It's worded so you have read between the lines to know it's a photo you are getting - not the lure.
Report him now - but be careful about contacting the winner. That may get you in trouble. It's a shame too. That's a lot of money for a photo - let alone a copy of a photo?

"This is a Redfin lure from Jim Donaly Bait from 1915 Redfin weedless bait #67 value $500.00-$750.00 The picture has a few wear nicks and scratches, picture shows it better than I can describe it. The hook on the back is weedless and in the down position and can move up to catch fish. Buyer pays 3.00 s/h. Own a piece of history with this beautiful 1D piece, truely something to frame on the wall and admire for a very long time."

1D piece!?!?! what a scam.

I can see where you would be angry that he stole your photo, but I really don't see why you think this is an auction FOR a photo.

The first four words really say it all. Was the lure you sold a truly UNIQUE item? Could this buyer have another one and simply is using your picture to sell his? Could he be the buyer of the one you sold?

He stole your image, which is actionable on eBay, but I don't see any other reason to jump all over the guy.

And by the way, a photo is a 2D piece, I think he must mean mean something else by 1D.

The part about hanging it on the wall would apply just as well to the real lure. For $1200 you sure wouldn't want to FISH with it, would you?

Some people here know how to alter the photo HE has - with a naked lady or such. I'd be tempted to do that. Talk about a lure!

1915 REDFIN WEEDLESS BAIT #67 RARE VISUAL LURE

He says it in the title. "Visual." One notch up from "virtual."

replaymedia did you look at both auctions? This tells me that he is selling a picture "The picture has a few wear nicks and scratches" and "Own a piece of history with this beautiful 1D piece" and "RARE VISUAL LURE"

Poor "homo" bidder is from JAPAN and probably would not be able to pick up on those nuanced clues that this is a PLAYSTATION BOX SCAM!

The buyer is from Japan? And the seller only takes Paypal? Pull up a chair and get a ringside seat folks. This is gonna get good.
