How much does endica charge a month again?
I gotta do something here. Seems Paypal has taken on the onus of emailing my buyers, without my requesting it, or my permission to do so when a shipping label is created! I think they are way over stepping their boundaries with this.

I *DEFINITELY* like the new postage log.
I have never tried it for international shipments- I've always taken the stance that if I have to stand in line at the PO for them to process the customs forms anyway, I may as well let them do ALL the work on the international items.
Since the PO clerks have to do the rubber stamp thing anyway, is there really any benefit to doing international shipments with Dazzle/Endicia?

In my own opinion, it's worth $15.95 a month for the stealth postage option alone. I have not had a single "you overcharged for shipping" complaint since they implemented the feature, and I DO charge a reasonable handling fee.
Honestly, if Endicia ever went out of business, I'd probably just call it quits too. It's just become that crucial and useful to me.

Thanks realplay. I think I will check it out.
Right now I am really pizzed at Paypal and I dont think I will use them for shipping services any more. They do the stealth as well, but this mandatory email to buyers when a label is created - I dont like it. What if I reverse the shipment? What if I leave in the back of my truck and forget to take it to the PO? They should just take my money/receive my money - thats what they do! Leave the business of my purchases and any correspondence furthermore to the buyer to me.

replaymedia -- You don't have to wait in line for international shipments. Just attach the customs form to the box and drop it off with all your other packages. That's all I do. Use endicia for it all the time.

tom: well yeah the insurance coverage upgrade (in amounts too) is great.. but I never really used it much. lol.
I would use the upgrade service too, but people dont really complain about my shipping fees much, so I think I'll save whatever I can.
I go for the annual payment of $99 or so a year for the $9.95 plan. saves $20 bucks. *shrug*
It definitely is a time saver for international mail. I can print out the address label/postage, and the customs form. I simply drop off the international mail at my post office. For some reason they like to put a zero amount label on top of it (probably a rule the ignorant postmaster enforces that isn't necessary, but I've already butted heads enough times over something minor that really doesn't affect me) - I thought the same way you did about international mail, but it does reduce my time at the post office.

Now this was interesting! I like to read Harry's Hints at Endicia every now and then - http://www.endicia.com/harryhints/ and I came across the one about the "Understanding FIM (Facing Identification Marks) on Envelopes". I've always wondered about that and it's quite interesting how the mail is processed.

At the end of the article it says:
"A FUN NIGHT OUT!
Talk to your Post Master and find out when your nearest SCF is having tours. Typically, they provide free tours at least once a month. I guarantee you that you’ll be astonished at the scale of the operations, and come away with a much greater appreciation of the USPS. Bring a date - it’s an evening they won’t forget!"

Well, I emailed paypal and asked if they planned on putting the emailing recipient back to an option, and I got a snotty answer from some kid that basically said, you dont like it; dont use it.
I really think there is some privacy issues they are overstepping here, but if it's anything major I am sure time will tell, and they will find out. I dont understand why they have to be so dogmatic about it. USPS.com, Fedex, all the others....they offer it as an option if you'd like to notify the recipient via email.

Hi Folks!
Many of you already know about my "hints" page here:
http://www.endicia.com/harryhints
Some new topics include our E/DC bulk acceptance scan and the new integrated E/DC barcode. High volume users should look at the tutorials on Tarantula and Galaxy.
We just introduced a new "print a sheet of stamps at home" program. It's free for existing Endicia account holders. You can print up to 25 stamps of various denominations on a special paper we provide. Email [email protected] if you want to give this new program a try.
And finally, tell your friends and neighbors about our really new service for printing color customized US postage stamps. You don't need to be an Endicia account holder to order these stamps -- you just need a great digital image. These are simply gorgeous! Check it out here:

HOWEVER, more than anything we needed assurance that our customers’ had received their packages, which requires a signature. Therefore, via USPS we had to pay postage, insurance, and for a signed return receipt. That is a combination of endless time, paper work, paper records and cost.
We ran a test USPS vs. UPS, and UPS won hands down. Customers like to be able to track their package, sometimes everyday as it proceeds to their home. When their package arrives, they have to sign for it, and that totally ended our claims of “I didn’t receive my package.” PayPal and Credit Card companies want to see a signature where the customer actually signed for the receipt of the package.
We were burned too many times with “I never received my package,” even when it was insured, etc. Then one had to start the waiting to recover from the USPS, and it was just too time consuming, too much of a pain in the derričre, plus I knew many were simply lying.
IN ADDITION, we still had to take the packages to the USPS, whereas UPS picks up daily, I do not have to pay for labels, I can easily void a messed up label, and many other choices.
Endicia is a nice program, but we feel the need of the security we get via UPS.
P.S. We did not even test FedEx, as we have had such AWFUL service receiving packages from them. We have a free standing, brick/mortar store (6,000 sq. ft) at the corner of 2 highways, and 90% of the time someone ships to us via FedEx, FedEx claims they cannot find us!!
