Just hoping you all check into that continuing saga for poor cheryl's niece's family .... reading thru it lately makes you wanna crack bad jokes about Cleveland, but some of the same bad things that have happened to her niece there, happen all over the U.s. everyday ..... Ryan's mom's car stolen from the hospital; then this week, money stolen from her purse while at the hospital! ...
It is infuriating to me, but I keep remembering the most important thing ....
The best part of the story; that little Ryan is still "hanging in there" ... what a sweet little trooper he is!

Thanks, Marcia and Roadsmith. I went to an ice cream social last night which was actually an event to announce that my state rep, Dale Miller, is running for the senate. Met a lot of political bigwigs there and extended some invitations to Ryan's benefit dinner. I've been friends with Dale and his wife, Carol, for a couple of years. Since the event is in Brook Park, I've also advised the organizer of the event (I'm too busy to take this one on) to invite the Mayor of Brook Park and the Mayor of the City of Cleveland, Jane Campbell. She's coming up for re-election. Having some political bigwigs at the even should bolster ticket sales. Why do I get the sinking feeling that those invites are going to fall in my lap?
Ryan is becoming more active although he still won't walk. He may have to learn how all over again. He's been in bed since June 22. He is playing more and smiling. That smile is priceless!!
My sales on eBay are starting to pick up somewhat so keeping up with both web sites is becoming more and more difficult. Somehow, I'll manage. Who needs sleep, anyway?

Cheryl, I am continuing to pray for Ryan, there is still a long road ahead for him and Melissa and family. How sad that someone would steal the money from right out of the room where they know she is there with her sick little boy. I hope they can catch the thief. The car I can understand better because the owner would be "faceless", just a crime of opportunity, but to steal from the mother of a sick little boy makes me so upset.I hope she can soon get another car. Has the story been in her local paper? Sometimes there are people or companies will to donate a vehicle.

I just check on Ryan's Page the other day and saw about the car & money. What a shame.
Looks like the hospital would do something for her but I would not hold my breath.
Let us know when you have more on Ryan - they are all in our prayers.

Today is Melissa's daughter, Candace's, birthday. Melissa's mother is sitting at the hospital with Ryan today and we're all taking Candace to Memphis Kiddie Park. It's a children's amusement park about five minutes away from here. I went there as a child in the late 1950's. The place has been there since 1952. I'll find out more about Ryan from Melissa today. As is usual, my granddaughter will attempt to get me on the kiddie roller coaster. Let me tell you - it's one rough ride for a grown-up. The seats are small and you end up with a banged up back before the ride is over. I'm passing on it today.
