"I wonder how ofter people search for poke-a-dot." Probably about as often as they search for a "Myster Item".

This appears to be a standard part of his listing template. He has the same thing on all 20 of his auctions. Is he ever in for a surprise if Ebay catches wind of this.

2 of the first 3 auctions I looked at had mispellings in the TITLE!

- Nolstalgic
- Desing for design

I have a feeling that all the spamming in the world won't help him

Ebay might not object. One might find something they did not know existed and bid on it using a lot of these words. You can spend half a day just searching umique and unusual. Few items are however.

Pulse is a way to find the most commonly used search keywords in specific catagories. Also shows the top stocked stores in those catagories.

All of the auctions for oklahomatradingpost have been nuked. I guess Ebay reads these boards after all.

Did anyone read their about ME page? Seems that they just bought a 13,000 square foot warehouse with over 100,000 rolls of wallpaper.

I don't think that this newby seller (13 feedback) read the rules of selling carefully, who would take a chance of getting kicked off Ebay with a ton of wallpaper to sell?

If it's their 1st violation, they probably didn't get NARU'd, just had their listings nuked, and since Ebay did it, they refund the listings fee.

eBay Pulse - (i.e.) keywords, is a bunch of junk. It does not at all match or reflect any of the professional sites, which keep track of key work searches made on the major search engines. Some of these sites provide key words and the amount of times that word has been used on a major search engine as a search in the last month.

What I see in titles on eBay, which is a costly waste of words, is colors, too many adjectives, adverbs, etc.

For Example lets say I want to sell a Menorah

WRONG TITLE: Rare, Ornate Silver 7 Branch Menorah, Classic Styling

BETTER TITLE: SILVER TEMPLE MENORAH ISRAEL JERUSALEM MESSIANIC

If I am using a Gallery Picture, I do not need to say it is ornate, beautiful, classic, or how many branches it has.

Beautiful, rare, unique, pretty, classic, are not words people use in a search.

HOWEVER, anyone interested in such an item may well use such key words as: Temple, Menorah, Israel, Jerusalem, or Messianic

Believe me you can find better list of key words outside of eBay. Try:

http://www.searchengineworld.com/cgi-bin/kwda.cgi?url=

http://www.keyworddensity.com/

http://www.kenkai.com/seo-tools-keyword-density.php

You can find many other sources, by putting in: Free Key Words
In the Google Search Engine.

Well, about half of eBayers are browsers rather than searchers so the owner decided to set a policy that 1/3 of the title be devoted to grabbing the browsers' attention (using words such as RARE and other non-searchable terms). Not sure how I feel about that policy, just some food for thought.

Are there any stats on Browsers Vs. Searchers on ebay?

Some catagories are still small enough to make a browse fun. Others, it's a full on time sink to browse. At. All.
Search is a must.

I would be curious to know who browses where, when compared to searching.
