I have NO idea where to start with this. They are big and heavy. It looks like the base and stem are solid glass. the coat of arms and other decorations seem to be painted on. You see that circle thing the the white dots on it that is on the stem of the goblet on the left? It is actually a raised cylinder shape with dots. It appears on two sides of each goblet. Oh great, now what have I gotten myself into.

Now the question is, can I add a foto to this post? we will see

Interesting set. Do you think they are antique?

These have a specific name that I cannot remember - it's something like Rhomer/Roemer. They may be early 20th Century - they are German. You can try to call them Moser type/style. I would list them in 2 categories - Art Glass/Moser and Barware. I would try to get the glass collectors to look at them.

Here's a similar set I found:

ladyjewels, I have no idea if these are antique or not. By that I mean prior to 1940's. They were given to me by my friend who's mom passed away. They were going to toss them so they tossed them my way.

Caroline, thanks for the link. The stems are indeed similar. My guess is german as well.

Thanks stop, I'll check on the coat of arms and try to find something out on those before listing them.

I am now 3 hours into my coat of arms search. Very interesting stuff. I have been saving every important link I find. If anyone else needs to do a similar search, they will be able to email me for the links and info. Ho hummm back to searching

So far, it looks like the goblet on the left is associated with England and Russia or the surrounding countries. The shield is split into two parts. The left side the gold/black with the green branch going through it is the arms of King of Poland 1697. The white lions - one on each side of the shield is of england. Now working on the right side of the shield. Maybe that will put it all together.

I know what you mean - I do this all the time. Spend hours researching only to find my item is worth $20. At least we learn as we go.
