It used to be that when I left feedback for someone, the next Ebay page showed who I'd left it for and the person's e-mail address so I could click on it and quickly thank the buyer etc. etc.

Now there's just a message from Ebay thanking me for leaving feedback, with no other information. Must be brand new? Not convenient, though. Which 17-year-old geek thought this one up?!

Must be ebay's way of making direct contact with other members harder. I think that is the way we are heading - no contact at all without ebay as the middle man. Feels kinda like "Big Brother is Watching"

I posted this question in the Ebay community Feedback Board, and people are just realizing what's happened. Not the end of the world, but just another of those danged tweaks they do now and then to keep us on our toes.

I've been noticing this for awhile. It is a little bothersome, as I like to e-mail customer when I have shipped or left feedback. The odd thing is that every once in awhile, maybe 1 out of every 10 times, the screen will show up with e-mail addresses---no rhyme or reason for it.

Say what you want but I changed my e-mail address and server over one month ago and all the spam mail I used to get for morgages, medications, penis enlargement and everything else they sent out has not appeared - not once! I am certain these originated with my past Ebay activities. So there is a postitive side to having to go through Ebay for messages. Notice there is still a link with the EOA notice with buyers e-mail address

Jack - I have SBCGlobal, too. I like it. Very little spam gets through. The only bothersome ones I had were the Nigerian scams. Those have stopped now after reporting them as spam.

Hi
I only except paypal so when they pay I get an email from paypal and there email address is there.
This is the email I use to contact the buyer when there item is shipped.
This works real good for me because its only one email.
As soon as they pay the next day or same day I ship so I only have to contact them once,

I also noticed the feedback change but for me it doesn't matter I never used any information that ebay gave about the buyer.

tonimar: Yes, that's one good way to do it. I'm always for efficiency wherever possible, and, rather than leaving feedback and then going back to my e-mail to find the buyer's EOA etc., I was able to leave feedback, the next page came up, there was the buyer's e-mail, and I could click and send a thank you and a message that I've left FB and the item will be shipped the next day. VERY efficient. Now it ain't so great--for me, at least.

Also, when you leave feedback for a seller, the webpage brings up a "Add to Favorite Sellers" button.
