What were you trying to do when the message came up? Sounds like you were trying to load a game. That's usually the source of those messages. NEVER load any games on the computer you use for business. Pick up another $20.00 swap meet special for that purpose.

There's something running in the background that is hogging a lot of resources. You can hit ctrl+alt+del and it will bring up a window showing what is running, but some of it can be difficult to interpret. There are utilities available to locate the problem, but without actually being at the keyboard, I can't be of much help. One place to start is to empty your cache and delete all your cookies and see if that helps. Also, do a disk cleanup. If that's a used computer, and you didn't install the operating system yourself, it's hard telling what might be lurking in the background.

Not enough memory! What processor do you have? What operating system are you running? How much memory do you have now? After we geeky types know that much, we can ask you more questions to figure out what to suggest to solve your problem

If you want a quick safe answer: clean out your cache, close all programs, reboot and see if it happens again. THe computer probably was running at least one memory hog program in the background while your were working on your emails.

but this is happened more than once and on a regular basis, more info is needed

Where is the recycle bin in Vendio? Are you talking about the recycle bin for images? OR is there another recycle bin I don't know about.

Jack

It is rather hard to flawlessly respond to your question without knowing what type of computer you are using, its age, the size of your processor, the type of Windows program you are using, etc.

My husband is a fantastic tech/geek – if you will drop me a note at: [email protected], I will respond with my phone number, you can call and he can tell you exactly what you can do. Today we will be at the phone number I send you, all day.

FYI – if you happen to be running Windows Millennium, it will not take a high amount of RAM, although it is an excellent program. We both ran Millennium for a while, but it simply could not process the amount of pictures, and work we have in our computers. We had to go to XP to be able to run the amount of RAM our on-line work requires. Remember, we are running a few eBay auctions, a few Yahoo auctions, a few niche auctions, and 4 large web sites.

I run 1000 RAM in my computer and need that much to process fast, and not get the “out of memory,” sign.

Not knowing anything about what you are running, how much RAM, what size processor, the basic first step on any Windows computer would be the one recommended by Microsoft.

Go to START and select run.
A window with “msconfig” will pop up, and respond with OK
The next window that pops up, click on the “Start Up” Tab
That will bring up another window showing what programs are having to open during start up, rather what programs you have running at start up. Many are not necessary and just continually eat RAM as you work. IF you recognize any that you do not need to have running in the background eliminate them. If they are vital programs, MSN will pop up a window telling you that it is not a good idea to eliminate said program.

Eliminating the program in Start Up, does NOT eliminate the program from your computer, it merely eliminates it from running when you start up, and then running in the background. It will remove it from your pull up tray, but the Icon will remain on your desktop, and you can activate the program at anytime from there.

Since there are so many “ifs” depending on what you are running, it would be better if you just drop me an e-mail, and let you and my husband talk for the best results.

Wishes for a wonderful weekend.
