I need the help of my fellow Vendio members...I have acquired this lovely vase and cannot find out any information on it. It measures approx. 5 3/4 inches tall by 2 inches wide including handles. The vase is in a cobalt blue color with handpainted gold accents with a raised design of a woman in white bisque on front. The bottom is simply marked with the numbers 1864 - no other identifying marks. Does anyone have any ideas as to its worth, age, maker, etc.?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

My guess for what it's worth---European, probably made in Germany. Relatively modern.

I agree with max. Wish I could help more (or at all). Your vase sure is pretty though.

I agree with the German origin, it's Art Nouveau in style - it seems to copy the Wedgewood pieces - jasperware - that were so popular in the early 20th C.

As for worth, if you are selling it on Ebay, I would try to mention German, cobalt, Art Nouveau in the title. With the right photos, you may be able to get $15-$45 for it.
