My most recent inbox email...
"Do you accept PayPal funded by a credit card and will you ship USPS to a Post Office box?"
Am I missing something? I feel like this is a trick question. Isn't that how one usually pays through PayPal? And the PO Box thing? Holy Shipments, Batman!

1) There are some that only accept PayPal that is sourced from a bank account or ballance because with a personal account - those payments are fee free
2) Some sellers only use services such as UPS, Fed Ex Ground etc which do not ship to PO Boxes.

Your question is coming from an individual that has probably had a bad experience with another seller and is taking the needed step to ensure this does not happen again.

I thought that Paypal changed their policy recently where you had to accept credit card.

I guess I'm a total dolt! I've never even bothered to notice the difference. I just checked my preferences on ebay and the "block buyers who don't have a PayPal account" is selected. Does that mean they can't pay with a credit card or is not allowing to pay with a credit card something you state in your policies? I've never had this question, I guess that's why I feel "out of the loop!" Thanks for your feedback on this one.

I'd rather mail an item to a post office box, than to a person's unsecure doorstep.

Something that needs to be in your policies. Be aware though that there is a limit as to how much you can recieve each month on a personal account so if you are anything but a rare occasion seller, it's not worth the effort.

Actually it is a trick question if you haven't read and understood PayPal Terms and Conditions. If you accept credit cards then the buyer can do a chargeback after you ship to a non-confirmed address such as a PO Box address, if it doesn't match the CC billing address.

If you have a merchant account you can verify the billing address matches using AVS.

Agit - why do you believe that a PO address cannot be confirmed? From my experience, the only thing they confirm are billing zip codes. My ship to address is not the same as my billing address but because both are in the same zip code, both are confirmed addresses.

Sort of. The new policy is only effective on ebay. What it states is if you offer PayPal as a payment option on ebay, then you must accept credit cards. The policy is only in effect if you check the PayPal box when listing on ebay. If you offer PayPal and you do not check the PayPal box, then the policy is not in effect. You then can accept only cash or bank funded payments.
