This is the third time this has happened and it is making me CRAZY!! After pounding out a rather lengthy message on my laptop (can't type very well on that thing) to a buyer via ebay's message system and pressing "send", the thing came up with errors. It turns out I had quotes in the message (was trying to describe a 1/2" long tear on a postcard). The killer thing is that I can't even edit out the quotes! The whole thing erases and I had to start again. GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!!! If they want us to communicate through ebay channels, then make the DANG thing user friendly (and providing a viewing box large enough to review more than a sentence or two of the text would help)!!! OK - done venting!

That happens to me too, I just type the word inch now instead of using quotes. (I guess they do that to prevent people from using html).
When I do it though, it doesn't erase the whole thing (usually). I just click the mouse where I want to make the change, and I use a laptop as well as a desktop. To be on the safeside now, I copy the text before I hit submit so if it disappears I just paste it back in and make the corrections.

when did all this "no quotes" stuff start, anyway? i had the same problem the other night. someone asked if i would tell them _exactly_ what was on the back of a postcard...so i type the whole thing out, in quotes since it's an exact quote...get the error message, lose the text...

Hi Guys,
I’m sure you all have thought about this so I am probably “preaching to the choir” but I have had this same exact thing happen too many times so I always open my word processor and type my messages there first. I get a nice big space to compose and I have spell checker as well. Then Copy Paste and I still have the message in the processor should any glitches take place. It is very exasperating to loose that lengthy message you spend forty five minutes carefully composing.

I've had it happen too - FRUSTRATING - just hit the "back" (ARE THOSE QUOTES??) key and you will find your original message there and can correct without losing the entire message. I found out the hard way
