What the heck! My mom and I are both sellers. We both create our auctions through Vendio. We both take the same steps and do not go through ebay checkout...we're old timers. Why do her auctions say "see description" on the search page under shipping and my auctions show the dreaded "not specified"....this is frustrating. I put the shipping rate on the auction page in the description....why complicate matters?????

On the listing page for Vendio, there is a spot towards the bottom of the page where you can specify shipping. Ebay will pick that up once the auction is launched and put in "see item description". If you are just typing it into your auction description, then ebay cannot pick it up and will show it as "not specified".

Personally, I'm amazed that Vendio is managing to keep up with all of the recent changes that Ebay has incorporated. Way to go Vendio!

Diane,
Thanks! Sorry to be so thick headed here..., so I don't have to go through ebay checkout? I didn't see anything at the bottom of the Vendio page that allows me to choose "see description". I'll try it again.

Hello,
If you are still confused (So was I)Look up Vendio alerts which has a rather good description. However you must type in "See Description" as I understood it. It is all very confusing.

I don't type in "see description". I simply select "first class mail" or whichever mail class I am using for that item, and put in the price for shipping. When someone does a search, it shows up "see description" for shipping on the search page.

If you put in the shipping price and click the appropriate buttons the shipping price should show up not "See Description"

At least that is how I read it

If you list directly through ebay, then yes, it will show up with the shipping amount showing in the search. But when it goes through Vendio, although the shipping is stated, Ebay's system can't "read" it but knows that the shipping is stated. That's why it comes up see description. It is a glitch between Vendio and Ebay.

You have to set this in you Vendio preferences in order for it to show or at least that's the way I understand it. If you only use one type of shipping you can set it to that but if you sometimes calculate and sometimes use 1st class - well the "see description" is the best you can do. I think this is going to cost us (vendio people) some sales but then vendio has done the best it can at this point.

HELLO,
just checked my listings in the search mode (No easy task) and they all are listed "See description"

So it works as I listed above. (That does NOT mean there are not other ways to achieve same results)
Thought you might like to know.
