I have read the eBay rules on what medical devices you can and cannot sell on line, but I have kind of a weird thing and don't know if it would be alright to sell on eBay or not.
I have acquired a couple of pacemakers (I believe they were for demos/medical samples) and wondered if they would be allowed on eBay and if any medical device collectors would bid on them.

In a nutshell, YOU can't sell them. The right person could, though. These are FDA regulated devices. They can only be listed by someone who is legally qualified to deal in thest devices, such as the factory, an authorized dealer, a physician, etc. There is some very exact wording that has to be included in the auction, such as your business name, address, phone number, and your legal qualification to sell them. The seller has to require the buyer to submit evidence that the buyer is entitled to possess this item, such as a prescription, before he can ship it. Although it's probably legal to sell, there are only very few people who can qualify as a legal seller. This was very carefully spelled out to me in an Email from [email protected] when they nuked one of my auctions. Pacemakers are normally delivered by a manufacturers representative to a Cardiologist at the hospital on the day of the scheduled surgery. Additionally, all medical devices, even OTC devices such as a breast pump, have to have the original manufacturers instructions for use before they can be listed.
