About 20 years ago, I bought a coin. It was a brass washington and independance cent from 1783. Maybe 100,000 made in Copper, but this was a restrike made in brass, and only 2 were known in brass. I had the coin photographed and put into a friends book (the complete catalog of American Coinage). The coin cost me all of $250 in 1983.
I finally decided to sell it and it turns out an auction company had an auction at the national coin show (ANA show in San Francisco). I put my coin in and it was mis-descibed by the authentifiaction company and was listed as copper... Common. It fell $100 short of my $1500 reserve. The auction company agreed to have it corrected and put into the next auction, which had a major collection of colonial and washington coins. The next time they put the wrong grade on the coin, so they agreed to not charge me the sellers commission. Well, they internet auction the coin for 20 days, the ending auction price is the starting bid at the regular auction session. Well, today is the auction, and today, the coin got it's 7th bidder, who has offered $15,000!
OMG! Just a few bids away from a new house! The final auction just started and my coin comes up in about 2 hours... WISH ME LUCK!

This is the kind of story that keeps we collectors looking all our life for that one big score. It don't happen often but it is sure better than the lottery. Congratulations, remember IRS.

There are only 2 known. This one is the Plate coin in the general reference book and I believe far higher quality.
