Whenever I receive a payment, I e-mail to state that the payment has been received and the item will be shipped shortly. When I ship the item, I send out another e-mail stating that the item was shipped, how it was shipped and provide DC number.

I find myself answering several e-mails every day for -- "Did you receive my payment yet?" "Did you ship my item yet?"

Are they not receiving these e-mails (some are done through Vendio while others are through ebay's e-mail system)?

I think most people don't get those messages due to spam filters, junk email boxes, or just unwillingness to read messages. Because of this, I think it is best to avoid other email systems, and email directly.

For people that send PayPal, I don't bother with payment/shipping updates. They usually get their items before they get the chance to check their emails.

I reply to the paypal payment and 99% don't ask...every once in a while I get the "I've paid through paypal" to my little short personal invoice and then I just reply to that with the same message. I really think spam stoppers stop a lot of payment received e-mails .I guess paypal gets through so less ask where the product is. You could try it for a few days and see if it helps any. If not lol you can come back and knock me over the head for wasting your time

Vendio or eBay email sys ummm I'm inclined to delete these without reading them thinking they are advertisements or spam. My spam filters snip them out as well. You may want to use an email account from google, yahoo, hot mail or other favorite.

bizzy,

"Whenever I receive a payment, I e-mail to state that the payment has been received and the item will be shipped shortly. When I ship the item, I send out another e-mail stating that the item was shipped, how it was shipped and provide DC number."

why not save yourself half the work and only e'mail them once - saying the payment's been received and the item is shipping today/tomorrow morning, etc.? put it all in one e'mail and cut your work load in half.

I agree Vintage - just one email should do the trick - since I've speeded up my shipping turnaround time I just send one on the day of shipment saying just wanted to let you know your payment was received and your package was shipped this morning.

It also cuts back on a lot of the replies you get - like "Thanks for letting me know" etc.

I'm sure bidders get overwhelmed with the number of Ebay emails that they may have opted in for - bid confirmation, outbid notice, end of auction notice, invoice, etc. They all start to look alike after awhile.

Editted to add: If I receive a personal check, I do email them when I deposit the check and give them the anticipated shipment date.

One great thing about Vendio is that all those notices are totally automated and are no work at all to send out. I send them and do think it cuts down on buyer status requests. I dont bother trying to get past the #$&^% earthlink and other ISP blocks though if I get the emails back.
