My daughter bought a textbook on half.com that usually runs over $100. and had it shipped by express mail.
The book never arrived and we complained to half.com about item never received. The seller, whom STILL has 100% feedback could not find the tracking number.
Went into The UPS Store to pick up my mail (I've posted before about using a box there for security) and they handed me the EXPRESS MAIL package 25 days late! Their representative signed for the EXPRESS MAIL package in late August, according to the tracking, and then it languished in their store for almost a MONTH!
My daughter ended up paying full retail to get the book a day before her first test.
Folks, this is Darwin level incompetence! Timely package delivery is what UPS supposed to be ALL about!
I'm through. With other problems I have had, I will NEVER patronize ANY business associated with UPS ever again.

Are they independently owned or is there someone you can complain to? That's really horrible, they should reimburse you the cost.

Yes, parklane, I would complain and see if there is some type of compensation they can offer you. They screwed up and you have to pay for it? Somehow, you'd think that shouldnt sit right with 'somebody' in that organization?

Parklane...I'm betting a small claims judge would see negligence in this situation and side with the little guy and against the multibillion dollar corporation. Don't forget to mention the impoverished, struggling student while you're at it. That's always a real tear-jerker that's worth a few extra bucks in the judgement.
