When e-mailing winning bidders (using the eBay e-mail notices...clicking on "contact buyer", didn't the subject line used to automatically include the auction number and description? Just e-mailed my winning bidders and noticed that it is missing now...what happened to it? I sure do miss that feature...saved me time since I now have to type the info myself. Wonder if there's anything we can do to get it back?

I was wondering if anyone besides me noticed. I have been using the eBay checkout since they changed it. I'd rather have my old way back, it's much more personal. However, since I've started using the eBay checkout, I haven't received any requests for shipping and total thru buyers side of checkout. Mixed blessing.

It could be the context of the default subject line was getting snared in too many spam filters. Ebay may be in the process of changing it, or they may be leaving it up to the sellers to compose their own.

I'm with you, max...I like to type my personal "thanks" and such to my winning bidders...but don't have the time to individually type in auction number and description on the subject line. I'm hoping none of my winning bidders think my abbreviated subject line (ie: Doll) is spam and automatically delete my message. I think when eBay automatically included the number and description, the folks knew it was a "legit" message. Hope the powers that be do what they can to put the info back. I really don't want to resort to the automated invoice...

I so miss it also.I've been double clicking the e-mail and then highlighting the subject ...copy ,then paste it in the subject line of the new message I'm sending but it was so much easier before.

Hi,
its been missing for over 2 weeks and its driving me crazy.I called ebay the other day and they told me to put it in the suggestion box as far as bringing it back.I always sent my EOA thru this link. The way I do it now is click on the auction and use the email address at the top and its still filled in,this is extra clicks and is definitely a backwards step.

I've noticed that and more bidders saying they never received their invoice. They're not AOL customers either.

Yes, I am missing it too. It is such a pain to have to copy and paste the title and # every time. I say "GIVE US BACK OUR SUBJECT LINE EBAY!!!"
