Anyone ever get this error message from Ebay when trying to respond through their Message system?

"This form is unavailable.
You have exceeded the maximum number of messages you can send."

Is there a maximum number? What is it? Over what period of time?

I got this after sending less than 10 messages and have no idea how I can now reply to responses I got that don't show the member's email address.

Ideas anyone??

usually if you just hit "reply" in outlook it will go to their e-mail address, without having to hit the "respond here" button. The response won't get posted on your auction this way.

Here's what happened.
1. I sent some messages using the "contact member" button on the members' feedback page. Perhaps 8-10 of these.
2. I got some replies that DID NOT get sent to my email address, but only to My Ebay Messages (that's an option when you respond)
3. I tried to answer one of those responses - through My Ebay Messages since that's the only option I know of ewithout the member's email address.
4. I got the error message about being over the maximum number.

I douldn't find anything in the Ebay Help about any maximum and I'm so surprised that they would have such a low limit - if there is one.

It this happening to your regular established account, or is this a new account that has been created recently? As well as I recall, there is a limit on newly established accounts, or accounts with very low feedback.

It's happening with my regular established account. Not new and has well over 100 feedback.

Since another 24 hours has passed I just tried again to send a response (after deleting a few messages still in my in-box). This time it was successful. Not sure why and still haven't gotten any answer from Ebay.

I can't believe they'd have limits as low as I'm hitting, certainly wouldn't encourage me to use their message system exclusively!

Still interested in any other help anyone can offer.

thanks

Yeah, its now a limit of 10 per day.

I don't know if old/established or high feedback accounts are waived of the limit.

Do as rhpepsi states. Quit using that stupid ebay system. Use your own e-mail account and reply directly to the person.

I have 105 unanswered items in my ebay mailbox...if there is a maximum I hope I have exceeded it and THEY STOP SENDING THEM THERE!

Oh dang - the limit is in sending and not receiving?? RATS!
