I have a mechanical collectible widget that I planned to sell on ebay. I bought the parts, fixed it up and it was ready to go. I knew it was worth over $300. I tried listing it with a low start price and a reserve. No takers. Then I tried it again with a slightly higher starting bid price with a buy it now. Still no takers. I tried it again, this time changing the start/end date to the middle of the week. Still no takers. I saw the local throw away paper was having a free ad sale. So I thought, what the heck! I listed it there and sold it for my asking price of $350 the first day it came out in the paper with many phone calls after that!

Sorry, I've been away from the computer. I should have stated is was a mechanical USEFUL widget. Not really collectible. It just needed the right person who needs something like this. Actually it was kind of cool for what it was.
I didn't even try CL. I didnt think it would work. I tried selling something similiar to this item before and never got any takes. That little throw away paper was the best!
