My buyer who is from Australia...... was high bidder on ........Aug. 27th
On Aug 30th, I sent a payment reminder Email
On Sept 11th I sent another reminder Email
She Paid on Sept 12th with paypal
I Shipped On Sept 12th, She elected Surface Delivery (4 to 6 wk delivery time approx)
I did NOT file a NPB on her I just gave her time to respond.
She files on me on Oct. 20th, Item NOT Received.
Question is: Can we state in our Auction that we only ship Air Mail Delivery, we do not ship Surface?
I usually let my buyers decide what shipping method they want ........but now I'm getting kinda tired of them paying late and wanting the slowest shipping method and then In a Hurry to file because there item is taking too long.

I usually only ship Global Priority or Airmail. NEVER surface. You can specify in your auctions that you will not ship surface.

My package was 2lbs and to ship Global Express or even Global Priority Mail it would have been very expensive, maybe for smaller items or less weight that would be a good idea.
But I can state that I only ship Air Mail for International Transactions, is that right?

I generally will not ship surface. I state international buyers need to contact me prior to bidding to discuss shipping options. I definitely will not ship surface if they pay with paypal, I need a money order or cash. Fortunately, it is not an issue with the majority of the items I sell, they go global priority or airmail.

As a rule NEVER ship by Intl surface when paid via PayPal. Australia isn't covered by PayPal's SPP so no use in sending via trackable shipping as you'll still lose any PayPal dispute. It's okay when paid using any other method as they can't snatch your hard earned money back from you.

I once sold a Royal Crown Derby Tea Set, ($400.00) to Australia. They insisted on surface mail, it took 5 weeks to get there. No complaints, but never again. All by airmail or global express.

When sending EOA message, I give international buyers the Air Parcel Post or Global Priority (sometimes Flat-Rate) rate. Occasionally someone will ask for a cheaper rate, and if I then state the SLOW rate I warn them it'll be 4 - 6 weeks. Then when shipped, they get an e-mail warning them - again - that it'll be 4 - 6 weeks. Never had a complaint. I think the warnings do the trick.
