This is the first time this has happened to me. The Buyer did not purchase Insurance on
these items, since it was over $30 I thought I best pay the Insurance myself.
I sent through USPS and always get Delivery
Confirmation, the DC shows the package left
our Post Office but not delivered to hers
in Kansas. I mailed two packages that day,
one to CA and KS. The other package got there in 3 days!! She has emailed me about the shipping on the package. I gave her the
DC number and told her that I INSURED the package myself (at my cost not hers).
Do I wait for her to reply to my last email.
Do I offer refund? Wait for her to ask.
She is a Newbie only 5 Feedback and I am nervous she will give me negative! Of course, I gave her Postitive right away since she paid with PayPal. HELP!!!
Thanks

You must have had DC if you have tracked the package. You have to wait 30 days to file a claim. Should not be a problem getting reimbursed. Explain to your buyer the circumstances. Give the tracking number & that will prove you shipped the pkg.

Now you know why giving feedback BEFORE the deal is over is BAD biz for YOU. NEVER, NEVER give it till you hear from the BUYER. If you never do hear from them that's all well and good too. Just because the seller was paid, means nothing if you're concerned about FB.....

Here is a classic example of why most here are so wrong about feedback. The buyer has done everything correctly and paid in a timely manner. Nothing short of a positive is deserved. The lost package is the SELLERS responsibility. Never do as Jack states as it is simply wrong. The buyer has the right to be upset that their hard earned cash has no return of product as of yet.
Sanmar has it right. Contact your buyer and explain that you as a seller are going to contact the PO to try and put a tracer on it. You will have to go in person to fill out the form. But also let your buyer know that the PO doesn't consider a parcel lost until it has been 30 days.

Thank you stonecold. I agree 100%. I leave a +fdbck as soon as the buyer pays. They have done the right thing. It is not their problem, it is the sellers problem.

The age old question - when to leave FB.
It's your business when you do it but I feel that FB is for a completed transaction and it's not completed until the item is received and everyone is happy.
It's not the seller fault the package was lost either??? The winner opted out of the insurance so any lost or damage is a risk they took. USPS deserves the bad FB not the seller or the winner???
I would not refund a dime until there is no chance it could still show up. If it was me - I would call the winner and just let her know that if it never shows up(put a time limit on it, of course), you'll refund the money to her. I have had 1st class to CA take up to 2 weeks.
