This is close to a double-posting (I posted it in a forum that Vendio Support monitors also), but my intent here is different. Is anyone else having this problem using calculated shipping?

This is my "other" post:
I have now received 3 different emails from 3 different auctions saying that the shipping amount calculated in the auction was less than the shipping in checkout. I check (after the auction, naturally) and get the same amount in the shipping calculator as the checkout.

I guess these three people could have entered their zip code incorrectly during the auction, or they could be trying to get me to take less for shipping (which I've done twice, since the amounts weren't major) but it seems odd to me. The three people were not demanding, and seemed honest (that's just my sixth sense, nothing scientific).

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it the same code base for both calculators (or an API call to UPS?). All were for UPS Ground, and they were for distant locations (I'm on the East coast, they were all on the West coast).

From auction #5629774426 I received "Hi. Some confusion about shipping because the shipping calculator gave me $21.39 and the other calculator in the posting gave me $38.88 to the same zip 97124. Please clarify. Thanks, Suzi " When I check the auction calculator, it says $38.88, but I don't want to blow this person off if she correctly entered her zip code and got $21.39.

Thanks in advance,
Claude

Hi Claude.

For curiosity sake, I went to your closed auction and put in the buyers zipcode with the following results:

Vendio Shipping Calculator
Item Info: item #5629774426: SAD Box Light Therapy Alaska Northern Lights 10,000 NR

ZIP Code: 97124
Carriers: UPS | Other
Shipping Method Cost
UPS Ground $38.88
These fees do not necessarily represent UPS published rates and may include handling charges levied by cashinyourcloset.

I used the shipping calculator in the auction. Do you have a different calculator linked to your checkout? I would think with the same shipping information to either of the calculators the shipping price should be the same or at least closer than $38.88 from the auction calculator compared to $21.39 from the checkout calculator.

The auction calculator does not import the information over to the checkout process?

I'm not giving you any helpful information but it is a curious situation.

According to Vendio support, they must have used the eBay calculator (near the top of the auction), which might not take dimensions into account.
