Okay, everyone, I finally have pictures of our family's latest addition - Buddy! He's made himself right at home. It took almost two weeks for him to get used to us. He's very territorial now, which is how we want it. It actually only took us three days to house train him. He's now 11 months old. He was an abandoned dog that my brother's partner found by the side of the road. He's fattening up quite nicely. When we got him he was skin and bones.

What a beautiful dog!! Nothing wrong with him that some barbecued tri-tip or chuck steak wouldn't cure. He looks like he would be a great guard dog for your Ebay merchandise. Start keeping all receipts for anything you spend on him (including the tri-tip and chuck steak) and save them for tax time.

Cheryl, he's gorgeous. Do you know what his breed(s) is/are? What a sweet - and smart - face!

Right on Cheryl - congratulations on your addition to the family. He will love you forever for saving him and giving him a home. I have 3 rescues and they are the best.
By the way, how is that grandbaby doing??

He's Shepherd, Husky, Collie as far as the vet can tell. A real Heinz 57. He likes constant attention right now. I don't think he got much of it. When he was found, there was a shoe lace tied tightly around his neck. No wonder he ran away from home! He really is sweet. It's hard to stay mad at him for more than a couple of seconds, though, because of his big brown eyes. He gets "fixed" right after the next round of shots.
He has his own couch (our loveseat), oodles of toys, a new dog house for when he's outside (he loves to be outside), and his own cupboard of snacks. No, we're not out to spoil him.

We'll bring him on down as soon as he's off "no car riding" punishment. He got mad over Halloween when we wouldn't let him out of the back and into the front seat during the ride to my mother's (we have a Jeep and the back is quite roomy). So, in retaliation, he chewed on the leather seats! It's not bad, but he must be punished. When John first picked him up off the street, he had to stop at the store. He wasn't in the store more than 5 minutes when the dog literally chewed through the driver's side seat belt. Now, every time we get in John's car, he says, "Just look at what YOUR dog did". LOL! Of course, at the time he was John's dog.

Congrats! He has such a "sweet-look" on his face, how on earth can you stay mad at something so darn beautiful?

I love him. He's gorgeous.
I like the second picture. He has that "I'm so innocent and cute" expression but behind that cuteness is a smart and mischievous dog. I had one that had that look. He loved getting off his chain in the backyard and touring the neighborhood. I don't know how many times I had to hunt him down. He also loved riding in cars and in the back of trucks but as soon as you stopped he'd jump out of the truck and go exploring. I had to keep a leash on him at all times. He was in my car one time and I left my window down just slightly too much and he decided to go out exploring. I was only in the dry cleaners for a couple of minutes but had to chase him down and get him back in the car.
He was part collie, shepherd and chow. I miss him. He was at my mom and step-dad's house for awhile because at the time I lived in an apartment. He was bitten (they think) by a copperhead snake because he was barking one night and the next morning they found him dead. They have alot of snakes where they live. He died about 2 weeks before we closed on our house we now live in which has a huge back yard and he would of loved that.
Seeing your puppy dog makes me want another dog. We have our 6 cats but I love dogs also.

Oh, how sad about your dog! We live in the city, but still have raccoons and skunks so we never keep him outside all night. Right now he wants to play with everything. Our dogs could have been related in their behavior. Buddy loves to run so the leash is on him at all times. We set up a dog run in the backyard. Even in the fenced in yard, he's on the run. Buddy has his eye on a female three doors down. She's the same breed as he is. We're afraid he'd dig himself out of the yard to go see her. Sigh. In two weeks that problem will be solved. I hope.
We had a cat. His name was Spaz because his was so crazy. He got out of the house a couple of winters ago. The neighbor found him dead in his pool the following spring. He must have tried to walk over the pool cover and fell in.
