Either I've gotten very sales-speak paranoid or this isn't what it looks like at first...

"Sell it fast sale"
"one day only"

"One day only, starting Tuesday, November 8, 2005 between 00:00:01 PT (12:00 AM plus one second on Tuesday, November 8, 2005) and ending that same day, Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 23:59:59 PT(11:59 PM plus 59 seconds)."

Does anyone else read this as applying to a ONE DAY listing instead of the usual 7 day listing?

The whole "sell it fast" just sounds flaky to me.

7- day listing at a "Fixed Price" format, instead of auction format.

Replay: By any chance have you bought a new car recently? <shudder> The level of paranoia is all-too-familiar. Turns out even auto brokers are scum-sucking toads.

But I think it's the standard promo.

Neglus said before she left on vacation "Please don't let them have a FLD while I'm gone".

She shouldn't have said anything!

So would this be a good time to try that "Send to Fixed Price" button on the My Ebay page (for store items)? Or is that a good way to really screw things up?

What do I click on Vendio to get it to list "fixed price" Thanks

jake I tried doing that, but the reduced fee didn't come up. I tried changing to a fixed price listing something at $11, and the fee came up as 60 cents. Does anyone know how to work it so that you don't have to cancel the store listing, and then re-list as fixed price? It would be so much quicker to do it directly from each store listing.

comebuy616: ... on the vendio listing page, near the top, under the title, you click in a choice of sales format, 'auction', 'fixed price', or 'ebay stores'.

you choose 'fixed price' for today's 10 cent listing special ... (will still have to pay for gallery pic etc.)

*ending that same day*

On Tuesday 8 Nov 2005 between 00:00:01 PT (12:00 AM plus one second on
Tuesday 8 Nov 2005) and *ending that same day*, 8 Nov 2005 at 23:59:59 PT(11:59
PM plus 59 seconds) sellers will pay 10 cents for fixed price listings only, on ebaY
US and ebaY Motors non-vehicle listings.

*ending that same day*

It is a waist of time and it will TRICK many people into listing 7 day auctions, after, getting stuck with a needless bill.

*ending that same day*

"The promotion starts on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 00:00:01 PT (12:00 AM plus one second) and ends that same day, Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 23:59:59 PT (11:59 PM plus 59 seconds). "

The promotion ends the same day, not the listing duration.

By the way, I just found out ebay won't let us list a 1-day duration for 'fixed price'.

Hmmph.

so is it for a 5 day 7 day or 10 day? does it matter? it is more confusing then the other promos.

Wonder if the fact that Nov 8 is election day has anything to do with Ebay choosing that day to offer a 10 cent listing day?

3, 5, 7 or 10 day ... just not 1-day.

so I assume the extra fee for 10 day still applies...

10 day still costs extra...read the fine print.

"All other fees (Final Value Fees and all other optional listing upgrade fees*) will still be charged."

"*Optional Listing Upgrade Fees: Border, Buy It Now, Featured Plus!, Highlight, Bold, Home Page Featured, Gallery Featured, Gift Services, Reserve listing fee, Listing Designer, Picture Services, Slide Show, Supersize Picture, extended duration surcharges."

What ebay may lose by offering a 10cent fix price listing on what may be a slow day normally for them as far as listing, they probably more than make up because all the other fees apply. Think how many more gallery fees they will get at 35 cents each. Ebay I am certain has this all figured out.

You gotta wonder how many listings can they handle? It's up to 16 1/2 million now.

jake did you notice the extreme drop off in listings after they made the announcment on the 7th.... up 1.5 million today as of now. Will be interesting to see where we are in the morning.

Almost 19 million listings! Almost an all time record! I'd guess at least 6 million are fixed price listings, maybe more.
