Over a very nice site an can't think of anything I would change.

Site looks fine in FireFox, Opera and Explorer.
Just a small point but did you know you can earn money if you make all your links to eBay through their affiliates program? eBay will pay you for sales leads...

Works in Safari. Looks good. Only brief confusion I had was in the table of state abbreviations. I expected them to read left to right across the chart and not up and down each row. Did not take me long to figure it out but it was not intuative.
Don't find any "ugly"!

You must have access to a huge variety of images, so I was confused that you used the same Amerind photo in your masthead and in your center column. I think I would use a different one in the center column and caption it.
I would also make your web page masthead identical with your eBay store banner. Buyers love continuity.
Your site map mixes links and non-links in the flush-left headings. Some are links; others are category titles. You shouldn't make people mouse over something to see if it's a link. That's called "mystery meat navigation".
On your About Us page, there are references to yourself but the reader doesn't know who "you" are. The text appears to pertain to the two images but is not linked to either one. There aren't even arrows showing which one you're talking about. When you said "this is me in my Betty Crocker period" I thought the photo was actually a picture of you.
Links page is okay except that there are some links with no explanatory text whatsoever. Maybe I'm warier than the average bear, but I ain't goin' there until you tell me why I oughta.
Under the Nipissing History tab: I'm confused again. If the collecting emphasis is on a certain geographical area and the Indians that settled it, I'm surprised it doesn't say so on the home page. That would explain either of the Indian images.

I think it looks great! My only suggestion is you mention 'topicals' in the right hand section, and I have no idea what those are. Is there a brief explanation you can provide in that area in parenthesis? Or does everyone but me know what these are?

caroline - everyone but you knows what they are just kidding. topicals = thematics, postcards on various topics or themes.
fluffy - how did you guess that the next step is re-doing the eBay store? that starts next week. good points about the site map and some of the other stuff. am going to save all the comments to refer back to in my toils. the nipissing history stuff is because my hubbie's amerind.
photo - ha, i KNEW IT! i thought left to right as well, not up and down. now i get to use the dreaded "i told you so" phrase next week, all smiles here. someone who shall remain nameless worked on it, and i think it sucks.
keep the comments coming please, they're very helpful. thanks, everyone!

Wouldn't surprise me - I would have guessed topicals were direction/landscape related - don't know why - maybe I was thinking topographical map?

Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic
I looked and had already spent 10 minutes on your pages before I knew it which in my view is set up in an excellant manner. The links are very logical and they make it very easy to find postcards that I may be looking for.
I am sure you have put countless hours into the design of the web page and I am sure it will pay off.

thanks, fluffy, I will check him out.
classic! I think I have heard spam as referred to as mystery meat, so maybe thats where that comes from. (I really dont know how anybody eats that sh* :shudder: ) so even tho you think I have a dirty mind, (like you - smile)..I was not thinking of your or anybody else's mystery meat at the time. LOL!! I was thinking it sounds so technio-sales'ish slimey, like: "yeah, lets get them to navigate through this mystery junk and by the time they figure it out they have clicked into a sale of some sort."

Vintage, nice site!
Was looking at your KY post cards. Did you know that Renfoe Valley was the early "Branson". Many of Nashvilles stars got their start at Renfroe.
