For mentioning TrendMicro Housecall on VD. Found some problems, that they called "infections" on my computer & got rid of them. Don't know what they are, but they are gone.
Very easy to use & T/Micro didn't even try to sell me anything.
So here is a little something for you & anyone else who likes illusions. Maybe you can tell me why this works & it sure does.

McJane...Be sure to bookmark Trendmicro and visit them occasionally. One of the first priorities of a few of the sophisticated worms is to try to disable an onboard AV program. If they are successful in doing so, about the only way you'll catch it is with a remote scan. Besides, you can't beat the price.
I havn't seen an illusion like that since this morning when the CEO's of the top 5 oil companies were trying to convince the Senate panel that they wern't gouging consumers.

Classic...It's at the bottom of the main page on the left side, called "Free Virus Scan". They had to change the name to differentiate between their free spyware scan. Heck, might as well scan for spyware also while you're there.

I hope someone kept an eye on the silverware while those guys were in town. In fact, if any of them got within 3 blocks of the treasury building, I hope the cops frisked them before they left town.

classic, it takes time, with me over 2 hours. I finally went to bed & finished up in the morning, so do it at night or when you won't be using your computer for a few hours.
sparkz, I bookmarked it & will go back often.
I've been to other places like that, but they never worked or wanted me to buy a program...after showing me many things that needed to be cleared up.
Trend Micro showed me only 3 & fixed them all.
Look at this, watch spiral for 20 seconds & then look at the back of your hand. Scary.

mcjane,
In fairness to Mark Levinson, he did make some really nice audio equipment, and apparently he did make Kim Cattrall feel pretty good (while it lasted). However, he might have been the master of hype, and the audio industry has some pretty stiff competition in the hype department. No pun intended in "stiff competition" -- that would be the other area of his expertise

McJane...The first time you use Housecall, it does take a long time. It dowloads a large virus defination database to your computer before it can operate. Your next scan should go quite a bit faster. Also, since it scans all files on the drive, deleting cookies and temporary internet files first will speed up the process.

sparkz, nice to hear that second time will be faster. I've seen so many posts on VD with free scans. Tried them all & they never worked for me.....this one did.
Thanks again & what a difference in my computer.
cash, thanks for the extra info on Mark Levinson.
