Well, based on the glaze colors of the handle, it looks like Rockingham/Bennington type. Are those other colors around the waist just your new pink Halloween hairdo reflection, or are those actually in the glaze? In which case forget the Rockingham. (Remember the tea kettle guy?)

LOL, Birg, IF my hair was that pink I wouldn't need the lighting <G>

No, this is most likely European and 18th century. I used to know what it was and even wrote the auction for it when I found it last year, but I've had a sytem crash since then and I think my brain crashed as well!

There are subtle pinks and blues in the glaze as well as the yellows. I'm pretty sure it is a yellow stoneware because of the clay texture.

The creamer is hand formed with an applied handle. Much like bennington or rockingham, but it is not either of them. Which reminds me, I have a rockingham turks mold I need to list. Thanks!

Reminds me more of art pottery in that case -- is it a Weller or Owens type glaze? Looks very high gloss.

If it had been made by the Bennington Co it would have a salt glaze... this looks like what is known as a standard glaze. Do you have a photo of the bottom. That would help in identifying. Is the handle applied ... I can't quite make it out.

It doesn't look like Rockingham to me but I'm no expert - just seen it in museums etc.
The bottom would help.

The top glaze very much looks like some old (pre-1900's) Bennington I've had before and I've seen a few benningtons with color, but none like this.

Here's more pics. Sorry for the quality. I can't get to my usual Photo set-up right now.

Now it does look more like the Rockingham I have seen. The pink spot really threw me.
I have a book on Yellowware Yellow Ware Yelloware (as it is known on ebay} and I'll check it in the morning for you if no one else ID's it first.
Hope you do well with it.

Thanks LadyJ. The glaze type is probably what they called "flint enamel". It has the appearance of being a thicker top gloss than a salt glaze does, hence the shine.

In the right light, the top glaze has a luster to it that salt glaze will not have. It also does not craz nearly as badly as salt, so many people do not realize how old these pieces are.

The turks head mold I have is at least 100 years old and looks like it was made yesterday.

My book wasn't much help - it didn't show any pottery with pink in the glaze but I did see blue & green. Bennington did make multi colored glazes according to my book but it didn't mention pinks.
Morton Pottery was another company that made color Rockingham type glazes - but again the book doesn't mention pink.
But boy some of the prices on this stuff is HIGH so it's worth a bit of time to research in fully if you can.
Good luck

Thanks LAdyJ. LAst year when I researched it, the pieces were going for around $100 to $150. IF I can't remember the correct name for this, I'll be lucky to $12!

I think I'll just put it back up until after XMAS and try again later.

Thanks for everyone's help
