Some days it just seems like it doesn't pay to get out of bed.
Maybe I have to make my NO PAYPAL announcement flashing neon instead of just big red letters.
I would like to retract the sale of the XXXXXXX. I believe that 9 dollars for me to make an unsecured payment is poor. I always pay with my credit card to make absolute certain that if I am not happy with the item I am covered but I am not doing it at that expense. I also don't believe in sending personal checks or money orders. I would appreciate you relisting the item (if you go through the ebay options you can do this for free, it even retracts all seller fees that would have incured to you.) If you agree to this I would love to leave positive feedback for you and you can still sell your item. Please let me know if you agree to this.

Buyer chose to use BidPay. Since he is already a seller with almost 100 feedback, there's no excuse for bidding on an auction that he knows doesn't allow PayPal, when he refuses to send check or MO.
He also sent email immediately following close of auction, stating that since I don't take PP, he would be using BidPay.

I'm really getting tired of dealing with these jerks. Below is a copy of my answer to him--
Since you decided not to use BidPay, and won't send a check or money order, I will be applying for my fees back from eBay. You were aware of the terms of the auction before bidding, and still chose to bid. That means you did not abide by the terms of the auction. That is the reason I will be listing on my request to eBay for my final value fees back. That will still leave me short on my listing fee and Vendio fees.
Regarding your reference to leaving me positive feedback if I let you off the hook; I consider that feedback extortion. EBay will also be notified of that.
Should you have a change of heart regarding following thru on the auction, I will deduct half the BidPay fees from your total amt. Or you still have the option of paying by check or money order.

I occasionally get people who "back out" after winning, and I pretty much let them. It isn't worth the aggrivation when in the end, if they aren't going to pay, they aren't going to pay. I've actually converted a couple of them into regular customers who buy from my ebay store (they bid in error, etc.) - It's a lot less aggrivation, and the listing fee for me is not that big of a deal to eat...

Hi Max, I can relate to your frustration
A few years ago I never would except Paypal.
At the time I was selling wholesale items by the case and we are talking about 200.00 to 400.00 a case. I took money orders only. I was worried about excepting paypal.
But lots of buyers were contacting me telling me if I took paypal they would bid so what I did was open a paypal account and I only used it when a buyer would email me saying they want to use paypal. I would contact them and say I would except paypal if they want to pay that way.
But I never advertised I accept it in my auctions, it was there for the ones that would only want to use paypal. I had no trouble selling every case I listed and most of them paid with the method I had listed but there is always a few that what it there way, so to keep it a smooth transaction I tried to accommodate each buyer.
But today all I use is paypal.......no checks or money orders but if a buyers asks me if I could except check or money order I say yes.

We sell almost exclusively internationally, but refuse to accept Paypal since it isn't safe for legitimate long-term eBay intl sellers who don't want to risk buyer fraud and unwarranted chargebacks. We have a very good 30-day return for full refund policy which has only been used on a handful of occasions over thousands of sales.
I feel for you Max40. Every week or so we get some international buyer attempting to pay via PayPal which we automatically deny (otherwise their funds can be tied up for 30-days in PayPal limbo if unclaimed). I blame eBay for the mess they made tring to force PayPal down seller's throats. Fortunately our feedback and long history on eBay speaks for itself and we can hold fast to the "No PayPal" line. We offer to cancel the auction and offer it to another bidder or relist, and invariably the buyer sees the light and pays via BidPay, money order or our preferred method, direct into our bank account in their country (usually free and often same day credited).

Follow-up---
I decided to use bidpay, I subtracted 4.30 from the total (half of 8.60). I just want to let you know any auction service that charges almost 8 percent of the item total just to make a payment, and then on top of it won't even allow you to pay with a mastercard, or a discover card is a poor service.
