I just spent about 15 minutes trying to find out the rate increase for Media Mail - You won't find it anywhere except buried on page 49 of the PRC Docket No. R2005-1 Attachment A. I think the reason is because Media Mail is increasing well above the percentage they are quoting in the various press reports.
Right now, with eDC, a one pound Media Mail package costs $1.55 to send. That will increase to $1.73
Presently, Media Mail is $1.42 for the first pound, .42 for each additional pound up to seven pounds, and .30 for each additional pound after that.
After January, Media Mail will be $1.59 for the first pound, .48 for each additional pound upo to seven pounds, and .34 for each additional pound after that.
Electronic Delivery Confirmation increases from .13 to .14
