I can't remember what the advice was on the long 4 day Thanksgiving weekend. Do sales go well or tank? I can't remember what I even did last year LOL!

I'm avoiding it. I figure many people are away from their home, or have company at their home, and would be considered rude to spend time on eBay.
OTOH, it might be a good excuse to get away from family

My first exposure to ebay was on Thanksgiving day 1999. My sister in law's mother was an ebay seller. One look and I was hooked.
Having said that...I won't be personally listing anything. My last auction stops on the 22nd. and then I start them up again on the 28th. Of course my store will stay open. My little mini vacation before the big Christmas push.

I know, I am really torn, I know I will be shopping on eBay after dinner so maybe others will too. Thanks for the insight everyone!

I plan to start auctions that night (Thanksgiving) and let them run for the week. If they don't sell - I have tons of relist.
As for ending Thanksgiving night - well that could be a big waste.

Won't most bottom feeders, sorry bidders, be lined up three deep outside BestBuy, WalMart, and Circuit City trying to buy $9.99 DVD Players? Could be a good time to do 10-day listing that end the following weekend. Avoid listings that end over Black Friday weekend as buyers will be out looking for local retail bargains in the pre-Xmas onslaught.
Me, I plan to spend the weekend catching up on some sunbathing...

I won't have listings over the Thanksgiving weekend but will start again on Sunday the 27th, figuring everyone's sick of shopping and their families by then.
