Does this magnifying dome glass that you look through at artwork have a formal name?Box was tagged loupe erotique translates into erotic magnifying glass. The pictures are Picasso nudes/erotic. Art is in the eye of the beholder lol cause to me they are to erotic. My pictures have little black boxes on them lol. Thanks for your help !

I have a few of these. They are paper weights. I don't know any other name for them. My grandma used to have them on her desk with fotos or some kind of picture underneath them.

They were used, also, for advertising in the early part of the 1900's until the 40's or so.
I used one for a photo of my husband and a 54 lb. black drum he catch. He still loves it.

I think for formal use, that is Mr. Paperweight or Sir Magnifying Paperweight.
