For about week, when I bring up a pending auction to copy and edit it, the computer consistently freezes up for 5-10 seconds. Are others experiencing this, or is it just something flaky with my computer?

I haven't had that problem with Vendio. Have you tried runny spyware or clearing your cache? I've heard others complain about the ad that runs on Vendio messing with their computers. Maybe it's that. Wish I could be of more help to you.

If you haven't powercycled your computer lately, start there.
If you need to know what "powercycling" is, let me know.

Okay, you in the back of the class, waving your hand frantically...
Of course you can go to the lavatory.
No? That wasn't it?
To powercycle means to shut down your computer normally (if you can) and turn the power off. Leave it off for at least 30 seconds. Then turn it back on again. That should clear anything in volatile memory. When you bring your computer back up, it reloads your program and starts work again from a fresh copy.
Computers experience transient errors for seemingly no reason at all, so powercycling and starting again is a good first step for debugging most problems. It'll solve many of them.

lol ... well, I did have to go to the lavatory, but that aside, thank you for your explanation of a 'powercycle'.

That is similar to a something a friend of ours called the "japanese fix". (If powercyling doesn't do you right.)
Whereas you turn off computer. Unplug everything from the wall outlet. Walk away for 6 to 7 minutes and then plug it all back in. Wait a full minute or two.
Boot up. Many a problem solved. I've used that many times since they told me that a couple years ago, and I am always amazed at how many times it solves vague mysterious problems I come upon.

Hmm. Powercycling. You had me worried that I had to go to the gym and do a lot of sweating.
In my part of the country we call it a "cold boot."

Believe me, I am NO computer expert. But sometimes I get a problem, and I back up to an earlier date and that cures the problem, especially if you have downloaded something and it interferes with something else. As you see, I use very technical language!!

Sounds to me like you are having the same type of problem as the poster on the Vendio Services board: http://www.vendio.com/mesg/read.html?num=15&thread=96314
Maybe the same ISP or firewall?? Anyway maybe you should post down there so that Vendio knows it's not an isolated case.

I want to thank you smart people. It worked. I turned off everything and unplugged. Left it off for 10 minutes - plugged it pack in and turned it on and was able to use Vendio without waiting 30-45 sec for the edit page to appear. Thanks again!!!!

You are loosing your memory. It is running out the power cord into the wall plug and out the utility pole. No just kidding Some programs just have memory leaks and a reboot or shutdown is only option to retrieve your leaked out memory. (RAM)
The way older program of AMP was notorious for it but haven't had that problem in long time.
