Anyone else notice this new ebay enhancement? I've only noticed it on one of my listings so far, but haven't checked them all: next to where I've filled in the shipping options and costs, ebay has placed "estimated delivery time."

Not entirely a bad thing, but they have media mail listed as taking 2-9 days and priority mail as 2-3 days, which while might be average, isn't completely realistic from our experience. (Everyone who has had a coast to coast priority mail package take longer than a week to arrive, raise your hand? ....I'm not the only one, right?)

I can see the advantage of trying to educate buyers on the average delivery time for various shipping methods. Still I'm not so sure I wanted ebay's estimated delivery time posted on my listings.

Packages from Florida take longer than anywhere else. I bought something from a Seller in Florida and it took 10 days to get it,I didn't blame the Seller because they did ship it right out.

Not entirely a bad thing

Au contraire, Pierre, it is thoroughly a bad thing.

Not every seller ships every day. I don't. Some people ship once or twice a week.

When you start getting email complaining about actual vs. estimated delivery time, be sure to forward each and every one to eBay Support. They made the promise, not you.

Just another turn of the screw by eBay to force us to be cogs in their huge virtual catalogue machinery.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

What we have here is "failure to communicate".

From live chat session just finished:

eBay: "I do apologize but I am unaware of eBay adding that feature to our site because we do not do the shipping ourselves."

Hello there -- anybody home?

It does not show up in any of my auctions when I use the blank slot (IN SMP and Vendio preferences) for other and this way no days are showing up I guess????.

I saw this last week and thought how dumb. I think if you choose shipping from the drop down menus this happens. Yep I am right does not show up if you use other box with no drop down list. I have one auction right now with both showing and the priority option does show days, OTHER does not.
Maybe this helped. I just find it easier to enter my own shipping in one slot and have it show up in my WBNs since I don't always use same type shipping. Always use other box and don't have to worry about shipping showing up wrong in my WBNs .. I had several options checked in my preferences once and by default it put 0.00 in them on WBNs and actually had a buyer want free shipping due to that slip so from then on I used only one option (other). Taught me a big lesson. For some reason I did the priority in the drop down list on one auction this week but I know when my WBN goes out it won't show that shipping and guess it is too late, never figured out how to fix all that with the WBN's but at least it won't show 0.00 for any shipping from now on. Only way I know to fix it is to catch and edit WBN when auction ends before it is sent out.. OH well.

I started out with nothing, and still have most of that left!
