NPB and a Neutral Feedback.

At least he told you quickly that he didn't want it. It could have been worse. He could have strung you along with no contact at all for three weeks.

If he complains about the feedback, tell him you'll remove it for $X payment to cover your eBay fees.

If it's truly a newbie I generally reply explaining the process that is about to happen. explain that ebay charges you fees based on a sale that wil not now be going thru and that the only way for you to recoup these fees is by filing for non payment and what the schedule is. If they are generally contrite and understanding I don't leave any feedback. If they get defensive and pissy I leave them a neg.

What makes me mad is that less than 20 min after my auction ends she goes and purchases another set from another seller. Now she does not want to pay for the set she purchased from me.

chessguy, you wrote:

your "buyer," new or not, deserves a neg. she knew she'd bought the set from you first!

that said, i don't leave negs, i just go the FVF route. that way, they get a black mark on their record and i don't run the risk of an unwarranted neg in retaliation. the third time they pull a stunt like this on eBay, they'll be NARU.

"less than 20 min after my auction ends she goes and purchases another set"

I take back my earlier recommendation. Neg her quickly!

Was the other set less expensive or why would she choose that one? It really doesn't matter, but I'm curious... She HAD to know you could spot that!

In that case - Tell her she has obviously been thru this process before and it's not exactly your job to take financial responsibility for her indesiciveness. Explain that there are two options available to her - she pays for the item or you file for non payment and leave negative feedback since she obviously seems to have wanted the item enough to have bid on two of them.

I try to mention that she entered in to a legal binding contract when she placed her bid and that you would pursue it as such. I try to at least 'scare' them enough that they wont do it to someone else.

At least she did contact you - tis the season!

Just out of curiosity chessguy - does your closed item show cross promotions for other sellers (you have to sign out to see it)?

This bidder needs clarity. Give it to her.

Just file NPB. Maybe send a second chance offer and/or relist if receive no payment.
