I just dicovered this website : http://flylady.net/index.asp It's a program to get your house decluttered and ready for company (or so it says - this seems impossible!). Looks like it is all handled with a liberal dose of humor. The best part - it's free ! Has anyone tried the program? I am tempted ... but I don't do "self help" things very well.

Yes! And I LOVED it - it really worked for me as long as I followed the program. Saved my sanity a couple of years ago.
The problem I found with it was that after a while, I would delete her emails - and once deleted, I didn't do what I was supposed to do and fell off the wagon.
I've also found it very difficult to do with my current schedule - but that's a flaw with my thinking, not with the program. If I would take the 10 minutes a day to shine my sink and do a room rescue, it would go a long way. Even though I fell off the wagon, I still retained some of the thinking - like keeping up with the laundry which makes a big difference. I have two weeks vacation coming up, and I plan to jump back on that wagon and get my house back in order.
Really, I have nothing but good things to say about it. She does sell lots of little gadgets, but the program itself is free. It doesn't work for everybody, but I don't know of anything that does.

Is this a program an ebay seller can handle?
My problem is I never want to throw anything out - I just want to wait until I can take a picture and sell it on ebay!!!
Thanks for the link - neglus
- I really going to try it (later).
I was thinking it would be easier to burn this house down and just get another!!!

Bah! HumBug!
I'm a SLOB, but Ralphie is a NEAT-FREAK (typical sufferers of: OSCAR-FELIX Syndrome) -- don't think it would benefit us???

I've been following it for over a year and LOVE it! It is indeed very-well suited for Ebay sellers, and I find it helps me remember to do the essential things in both Ebay and non-Ebay tasks in my day.
Flylady's main approach is that you can do anything for just 15 minutes at a time (or even 10 minutes or 5 minutes if that's all you have). And you can make an amazing amount of progress in 15-minute chunks, whether it's housework, or your business, or any other aspect of your life. I found it most useful to start with the simple daily routines, and add to them very slowly, after previous routines became more firmly established.
My house is not perfect, yet, by any means, but it is MUCH better than it used to be. Even when I occasionally revert to my old messy habits, I have some new tools and skills for quickly getting things back in order now.
It helps that there are constant reminders you can receive that reinforce these routines. And there are also many testimonials sent out too, with lots of creative ways to adapt the routines to your own situation.
I would really not recommend waiting until February before starting, even though it is busy this time of year for most of us. I think it would be much better to just jump in now, and make little steps at a time (Flylady is big on 'babysteps' as being most effective over the long run.)
IF you join, be SURE to read the introductory email that is sent out, which has lots of good tips, especially about NOT trying to do everything all at once.
If anybody would like to contact me or ask further questions, (or is just another Flybaby who wants to connect with another Ebaying Flybaby), please do so. Would love to hear from you!
