I need your opinion. I paid for an expensive widget on nov 13 that I won on ebay. The last email I received from the seller is that the item was defective and was shipped back so my item will be delayed. This email was received a week after I sent payment through paypal. I have sent many emails with only one automatic reply stating that if I am inquiring about when the item will arrive I should check their website and not to send multiple emails as that will delay shipping. I started checking their website that day and it never changes from saying that the item will be shipped within 2 days.
Since it is almost a month, I can still put in a dispute with paypal which I don't want to do. As far as trying to contact the seller, I have sent emails, sent messages through ebay's "contact a member" and still no reponse. (I haven't inundated this seller with messages. I think I have sent 3 - 4 in total) Since they still have auctions up for the same widgets, I was thinking of listing a query on one of their live auctions. Stating that I had won item # XXXXX , paid with paypal and am still waiting for it to arrive. It may warn others to stay away from this seller AND I may finally get a reply.
I really think they are a drop shipper who obviously didn't have the product to send when they put this stuff up for auction. Poor customer service. Do you think what I am planning to do is a little over the top?
Thanks ahead of time for your opinions

I think you need to file with paypal right now (don't delay) - I don't care how good or poor the communication is, after 21 days of paying with paypal and no receipt, that item is going in dispute. You can easily remove the dispute without consequences if they ship the item, but you might not get your money back if you don't put it in dispute. Just curious, why don't you want to put it in dispute?

Can't imagine why you don't want to file a PayPal dispute. I would.
I don't put any stock in emails answered/not answered (I'd rather be honestly overlooked than lied to in email), but if you paid and you don't have the item, it's that simple. File with PayPal.

it sounds like your seller is having problem getting the items from the supplier.
I would file with Paypal now, dont wait.

Yes to what everybody says here. Only time I wouldn't file a dispute is if it's truly a one-of-a-kind item, like a replacement kidney for Aunt Edith.

Also, the seller has the option of posting your question at the bottom of the listing, or not. Unlikely that he/she would.

Why stop with PP? Shouldn't Ebay be invited to help this seller expedite his shipments since the seller still has current listings of the item?

isn't the PP time frame for a buyer to file 45 days and not 30? or have i gotten myself out of the loop on that time frame?

Paloma - just as other sellers do not get to post info on your auctions, you cannot post it on theirs. The choice to actually post questions to the auction is something that is entirely up to the seller.
Vinatage - you are not incorrect - it is now 45 days.

I filed a dispute with paypal. I did see on their site that I have 45 days to do so but I didn't want to wait and take the chance of forgetting. Thanks everyone for your help
