Wooo, almost got me this morning. This looked like a real ask seller a question email. Looks like it's from a person that bought a item and did not receive it yet. Better yet they are using some poor powersellers REAL completed auction as the bait. I emailed the real owner/seller of this auction and also let him know that someone in Romaina is using his auction as a phishing ploy. Boy they are getting better. I almost fell for this one. Here's a copy of it.

Yep, this is the one that got me. Click on the respond message and it downloads a virus. The first thing the virus goes after is your anti-virus software, then your windows installer, then your drivers.... it apparently also sends out your saved passwords. I will never ever again hit respond to ASQ through email!

I clicked on the Respond to Question but all it did was take me to a ebay login page. That's when I knew something was wrong. I was already loged into ebay in another window so it should not have come up with the sign in page. I also noticed it was a .ro or romania url address. Might not have been able to do the virus on my computer because I run Mozilla Firefox for my brouser program, 3 firewall programs and 4 virus/spyware programs, yes I'm paranoid But it works. Luckily I didn't sign into the page. Dogged the bullet this time.

The first sign of the virus was when I booted and got an error program from my anti-virus that it could not check for updates, hope your security works better that mine did! I even had Scotty on patrol! (WinPatrol)

.... well, why would this be an 'active listing' if they are saying they had already sent the money.?

Yeah I got one too. LOL estatesales I got that... I always hover over links to see if they are bogus and they usually are. Another thing to do is look at the source to see all headers information and that gives it away too. I am also learning never to click links in any email that has to do with ebay, paypal or banks etc etc. BUT my bigest tip that it was a bogus email was that it went to an email in no way associated with my ebay account. I just had to look though just to see what the latest scammers were up to.
It is a real shame that this goes on and they never get prosecuted. Or at least I have not heard of any getting a into trouble.

I'm making a list and checking it twice!
