Okay if no one else is going to start it I will. I think there will be another 10 cent listing day this year for Christmas. What day do you think it will be? I am guessing around Tuesday the 27th. I would like to see it be earlier so all the shipping would be done before the increased USPS rates start.

Either:

Dec. 22: To allow eBay to charge for the additional upgrade for 10 day listings

or

Dec. 26th: I cannot imagine another day that would be slower for eBay. If they feel the need to pump up listings, this would be the one to target. Most sellers will have the day off, so they can list if they are motivated to do so, but probably wouldn't list without motivation.

The bigger question may be what FORMAT will the sale will be. FLD? 10 Cent? Auction? Fixed Price? Stores? Bold/Highlight/Garbage?

10 Cent Fixed Price is my guess.

The 25th would be nice. Catch everyone offguard.

The 25th?!?!? A little TOO off-guard. Ending on New Year's Eve? Starting on Christmas? Holiday week in the middle?

I doubt eBay would attempt that. It would go down in history as the FLD that everyone skipped.

Last year they had one on Dec 16th - but I think that was in response to the Overstock FLD:

I think they did have one on the 26th one year.

I'd only expect a 10-cent day if auction listings took a substantual dive (a 12-million listing target seems reasonable). And most likely a foreign promotion (Canada, UK or Australia).

Or only if there was a new competitive threat (maybe if google started auctions).

I checked the auction count calender from last December and it looks to me like the 26th was the day. I am busy getting ready for what ever ... when ever. New listings old inventory any thing that has not sold you name it I WILL be ready!

My guess is for the 29th. It will encourage the 10 day listings and inflate the listing numbers for the end of the year so they can paint a rosy picture for the stockholders.

Looking forward to SOMETHING ... I'm cleaning house and office and garage and finding all kinds of stuff I forgot I had. Some of it truly doesn't even look familiar! December 20 is my guess for some kind of promotion to help me get it all out of here.
