My husband uses AOL browser on this computer to do his ebay shopping. Tonight he was going to bid on something and the signin box came up - but the prefilled user name was "RAYPU" (not "neglus" so he closed everything, exited his AOL account and told me how strange it was. Just now I was answering my email and tried responding to an ASAQ and the sign-in box came up with that same name (looks like that user hasn't used the account since 1999 - this computer is newer than that!). Any ideas what could have happened?

I wish I knew - I had the same thing happen a couple days ago. Went to sign in and the name was vintage something. I fugured it was a cookie freekout.

Thanks Fenix - glad to hear it's not just us! Were you using the AOL imbedded browser too or is it an IE thing (I use Firefox for my browser)?
I deleted cookies and looks like the name is gone now. Cookie freakout is probably right!

neglus Don't you use Firefox? If so and you use the save password feature try clicking on Tools, Options, Privacy and in the Privacy window click on the saved passwords and then view saved passwords. I would check and see if the saved user name and password has changed there. Otherwise, you got me

Thanks Mike - I use Firefox but DH uses AOL because that's what he's used to and where all his "favorites" are stored. I just use AOL for email (we have a broadband conection)

I think it's an i.e thing because that happened when I was up at the parentals home where i.e. is the browser of choice. I use Firefox myself too. I even installed it on my mothers computer in hopes of switching her over and she uninstalled it (the nerve!!).
