This is a new one!! I got an email from a buyer who asked where his postcard was (paid Dec 5). I looked on Vendio and there was the payment. I ship directly from a PayPal download and that payment didn't appear or I missed it. I sent an apology to the buyer who said he was hoping to send it for a Christmas gift. I felt terrible and decided to refund his s/h. I went into PayPal history and searched by item number, email address and finally the PayPal Payment Id # shown in Vendio...NO RESULTS!!!
I called PayPal and asked about it. They said this is a KNOWN GLITCH!! When a payment is denied and then goes through IT DOES NOT APPEAR IN YOUR HISTORY but does increase your balance!!
SAY WHAT??? He said it would show in the email you receive... I said I have my emails turned off because I get so many of them....I always go right to the source (PAYPAL ACCOUNT) to ship my cards (I should have said the notices are so unreliable that a person would have to be NUTS to rely on them but that didn't occur to me at the time - I was so STUNNED!)
You will be happy to know that engineers are working on the problem.... SHEEEEEEEEEEEEESH!

Since eBay took over PayPal, it has just gotten worse and worse; I have no more faith & trust in PayPal than I do eBay, and that is ZERO!
In 2006, I may drop PayPal, as we have our Merchant's account, and our 95% of our customers come from a niche auction site, or our own web sites, which run payments through our Merchant's accounts.
PayPal has just become too unreliable, undependable, and untrustworthy.
