Was doing a little more reading on Auctionchex and found a thread at the ebay UK site forum with some good reading and potentially very good info.

http://tinyurl.com/bl487

Interesting as it's from the point of view of users from the other side of the pond. I don't have the time to fully read the thread now, but I found post #38 (posted by Auctionchex) may bear fruit for Canadian sellers far from the US border, or unconvenient to 'cross the line', and finding themselves unable to accept the green domestic USPS m/o's as CDN banks won't accept them either.

Those green USPS money orders that state :
Negotiable Only In The U.S. And Possessions See Reverse Warning ?

Yes, we can exchange those no problem

When I've time, I'll try to confirm with Eddie what the fees involved would be to exhange them.

I also think I saw something there about Auctionchex being able to do a batch conversion. If so, then presumably one could accept the green usps m/o's, then send them in a batch (or singly if worth it) to Auctionchex for conversion to a US$ check which then could be cashed in Canada.

Yes.......... green USPS mo's can be cashed/exchanged by us. In fact any money order as long as the currency is USD.

So how can we help Canadian sellers, assuming they can bank a regular USD check from a US bank ?

Hyperwallet is the answer, they would register an account, and create an entry (add money) in Hyperwallet, on input a fee of 2.75% is deducted from the total input, and on receipt to us, we confirm that balance and add it to that users Hyperwallet.

Users can from a confirmed balance, change all or part to a different currency (GBP or Euro), use all or part of a currency balance in a Payment transaction, or request all or part of the declared balance to be repaid by check (USD2.00 mailing fee) or bank transfer (if GBP or Euro) or paypal if you really want to pay the paypal fees!

Eddiy - while we have your attention - you early said something about AUD transactions. Was wondering if you also can accept bank transfers from Aussies? (please say yes, please say yes... )

AUD and CAD, sorry we only accept those for exchange to GBP (from UK users)

We have a few users from the UK that list on ebay.ca and ebay.au and will accept payment in a 'local currency' money order if paypal is not an option.

As paypal covers the bulk of payments, then payment in USD the rest, we actually see very few AUD/CAD payments, so not enough to retain a 'stock' to enable other transactions or create a 'localised banking' service to accept transfers, sorry.

I'm actually looking to sell on the AU site again where bank tranfers are by far the most common form of payment despite the push PayPal tried last year.

I will find the solution - I will I will I swear I will.
