I believe I have my first non-paying bidder. But I had a question for you veterans out there--how long do you generally wait before starting the npb process with ebay?

Thanks!
enjoy the day!

I guess that would depend upon your terms. Mine state that I must have a response to my invoice within three days. If I don't, I start the process at the seven day mark even though I don't require payment until the 10th day. You would be surprised at how often you get a response when they get that notice from eBay.

I got a hilarious email yesterday from an overly riled bidder that could not believe that I would actually report her as a non paying bidder just because she had not paid within two weeks or responded to the three invoices and gentle reminder email. Everytime I start to respond I just start laughing so hard I can't finish the email.

I don't send out reminders, my first contact with them after their invoice is usually 14 days, and it is the NPB notice. Does it annoy some people - yeah, it does. Those who are annoyed get a nicely written message stating that 2 weeks have passed without contact, and I am just doing what ebay requires to start the process to get money back in case a buyer changes their mind (and that does happen) - I can usually expect the NPB process to get at least 50% of bidders to pay within 24 hours. No response to that notice after 24 hours (either a paypal payment, or a message stating they will pay) usually means they won't.

I think the worst are those who string you along and say they will pay, but never do...I just hate that! It works out sometimes, I had a movie recently that sold for $4.99, the bidder stringed me along, said they would pay, but never did. Finally did the FVF. It just recently resold for $20.01.

I'm having a real problem with new buyers paying. I wonder if they get the invoices at all. I have one now that her feedback shows she always pays, but I'm getting no responses at all to my invoices.
