With the recent postage increases, I had created a second ID on ebay. The main one had shipping/handling set at $5 (for years)per item. The new one actually used the calculator. Well I have finally ended or corverted all auctions on the main site so that the calculated shipping can be used. I would like to combine BOTH IDs and I know Ebay Help center usually takes 20-30 emails to explain everything. So I am asking the experts here; How are the e-mail addresses affected? Having stores on both sites, how are the STORE CATEGORIES combined? I use VENDIO for one and TURBOLISTER for the other -- should I continue to use both or drop one?

Personally, I would keep the two ID's seperate. There are numerous advantages to doing so, most of which may not be apparent at this point. If you ever get into consignment selling, a seperate ID is extremely valuable from an accounting viewpoint. Also, you never know when some psycho may start stalking your auctions and messing with them. The second ID can provide a convenient refuge to continue selling until things settle down on the first. There are numerous other advantages to two accounts, but I can think of no advantage to combining two accounts except that you will also be able to combine the feedback totals for a quick spike in your total score.

Sparkz,

I agree with your reply except for the part about consignment selling. I've had around 700 consignors; having them comingled with things I've sold for myself wouldn't be helpful (or hurtful, for that matter); the requirement to keep track of auctions (whose item is it, has it been paid for, have I paid the consignor, etc.) is at a far more granular level than the eBay account ID level.

Furthermore, to some extent consignors benefit from a higher feedback score on your account. In my case, it's actually the other way around. I've sold between 5000 and 6000 items for others, and probably no more than 30 of my own.

I have two IDs sell in very different categories in this case do you think it is better to combine?

Also I cannot easily use two different IDs using one Vendio account. I have use the one with Vendio (Auctionwatch) since '99 . The other one I use the "crib" which sweet Ralphie told me about.

Now that it is tax time , I think one account would be better.

What do you guys think? I know that this has been hashed and rehashed but I would like to hear the pros and cons

This has been something I've debated for ages. Keep in mind once you have merged two IDs, you cannot merge them again. Ever.

Let's see if you guys have any suggestions. I have 5 accounts:

Main ID: 3500 pos 8 Negs
Secondary ID: 780 pos, 1 Neg
extra ID with neat name #1: 218 Pos, 0 Negs
extra ID with neat name #2: 153 Pos, 0 Negs
Old Half.com account: 930 Pos, 25 Negs (ouch!)

The Half.com account has pretty bad feedback at 97.4%, so I guess it would be advisable to ignore it.

I'm all for keeping a good feedback account as a backup, but I'll admit having so many isn't all that useful.

If these were yours, how would you pair them up before combining?

Fluffy -- Yellow Shooting Star, WOW!

I do not think I will survive eBay long enough to get that far.

I am glad for you, I know how much work it takes to sell on eBay.
That is quite an acheivement

Thank you. You're very kind to say that.

And a big thank you as well to the Vendions who've been bidding on my newly-revived auctions. You know who you are...
