It's a SCAM..I am always being told I paid laptopseller for something. If in doubt, sign directly in to PAyPal ( not through the link in the email) and check out your account.

Correct. That goes for Ebay as well. NEVER answer those type of emails ALWAYS go to Pay Pal or Ebay and check and IF is there in alerts, reply. As said NEVER answer Email.
You also can send to [email protected] or [email protected] for there input but now days I don't bother as I get so many.
Kind regards,
David

Niel,

As a general rule of thumb - never trust anything you read on the internet - and you won't go wrong.

Good advice agitprop, trust nothing without verifying. It's amazing how much crap I get in the email. It is also amazing that I have to keep repeating this basic mantra to family and friends, not sure why it is so hard to sink in???

not sure why it is so hard to sink in???

Because it's easier to simply accept everything at face value.

All things being equal, humans will always take the path of least resistance.

Plus, spammers play on cultural weaknesses. For example, most Americans have an exaggerated view of their own importance and of the weight of their views. That's probably a by-product of living in a democracy, but it means we are peculiarly susceptible to come-ons like "Give us your opinion and get a $400 iPod" or "Join our focus group and get $500".

You may want to forward it to [email protected] as well as ebay. I received a scary one the other day that used my full name and was incredibly legit looking from Paypal. The only way I figured out it was not legit was because it was in my spam folder!
