I've got a bunch of costume jewelery. I got ready to list it but didn't find a "costume" category. Any suggestions as to how/where to list? I've separated the items (bracelets, earrings, etc.) but find the present categories to not fit what I have as the items are made of different materials and are in different styles. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks!

Post a few examples and we might be able to help. "Costume" is a pretty wide definition.

If jewelry is mostly vintage there is a "costume" under Vintage/Antique category. If it's mostly newer items you can list it under "Lots". Hope this helps.

I think if you look under "junk" you might
find it there.......

Unless you have some nice costume jewelry such as Egyptian revival, art deco, art nouveau,Victorian,Edwardian,Coco Chanel signed pieces, you may want to take a look at Yahoo Auction, listing is free and it will auto relist up to 5 times, and no final value fee either.

Post a few photos and I'm sure you will get some good advice on how to list it. Signed pieces are the best but vintage rhinestone jewelry - signed or unsigned - can bring some nice prices. It all just depends on what you have.

I've sold vintage (20s to 50s) costume jewelry for good money, family jewelry everyone thought was too danged gaudy for their taste.

Recently at my favorite thrift shop there was a plug-ugly silvertone long necklace with some little doo-dads hanging from the bottom 6 inches, going for $1. I paid for it thinking I wanted to look at it further; found it had a maker's tag at the clasp: "Kirk's Folly," and it sold to a woman who was ecstatic. I still think it was homely and looked incomplete--but now I'll look closer at the ugly pieces, LOL.

The problem is for every piece of no name or no fame jewelry which sold for a good buck, there are many many which are left in the dust.
But people just want to hear that particular piece and hold on to its news like elixir or some kind of immortal nectar and words spread ,everyone has something comparable at home and want to sell it for the same amount.
I went to see an old lady recently and open my big mouth and told her of an antique Buddy-L truck sold on Ebay, final bid price was over 80k.
And she went to her deceased hubby bedroom and pulled out a 1993 Mobil oil tanker made of plastic and bot thru the Sunday newspaper ad and delivered by UPS and kept shoving it at me ,wanting me to sell it for her!!

Thanks all. I'm posting a couple of photos...the necklace is really strange...it's silver but I couldn't find any marks. Most of the items date from the 1980's/199's...would that be considered vintage? Junk or not? These pieces are not my cup of tea and I know that jewelery is a buyer's market and a tough sell...but, I learned a long time ago (when I sold some false teeth) that you never know on eBay.

Top one is probably nickel silver. Both would be junk IMO. But if you want to list them, I would run them as a Lot and post as 80's funkadelic.

Brings back bad memories of big hair, charlie's angels and disco dresses. UCK!

But luckily, I'm not everybody. Go for it.

By all means list it. There's hundreds of fortune tellers and drug addicts out there that would be interested in it.

Maybe the same person who bought the false teeth! Thanks...

Yeah - not what will make you money on ebay. It's vintage 80's or later but I don't consider that vintage JMHO. If you have enough, list it in a lot.
